Could you share with the rest of us your OC experience in your part of the state. How often do OC? Where do you OC? What kind of reaction do you get from the locals? Did you have to deal with the LEs? Share interesting experience with us folks.

I OC everyday and everywhere. iv OCed in food lion, sheetz, 7-11, walmart, almost all the gun shops in my area, lowes and some mom and pop places. iv been followed by 5 females in walmart which was the only reaction iv had so far there. lowes iv been given nods and a few thumbs up. sheetz and 7-11.... all i can say is iv never been waited on that fast before! havent had any run ins with va state troopers yet but county sheriffs are cool with OC. winchester city pd no reaction yet. scared the hell out of a few people at the laundrymat, they were asking me about carrying and when they asked about the permit i said no permit required. never saw people go from curious to nervous so fast!

interesting thing happened at wally world tonight. went to get one of the 250 round .40 cal big boxes of ammo (i was OCing of course) and after i paid for the ammo in sporting goods the cashier looks at me and says "make sure you dont load that thing in here" refering to my S&W. i smiled at him and politely said it already is loaded. as i walked away the cashier jumped on his radio and said to anyone listening there was a man with a loaded gun in the store. i heard the reply "yeah and"? :hysterical:

I OC all over Culpeper, Warrenton, Madison and Orange regularly. Usually the question is "are you a cop". That is my opening to inform someone of their rights under the federal and Commonwealth constitutions..which are actually rights that should require NO document, but that is another rant.

Usually the stares and whispers come in sit down restaurants from folks that are obviously "transplants" to this area..usually NOVA commuters that found their McMansion in the country. I have seen at least two families get and leave before their meals arrived while pointing at me and my family....guess my wife and I both carrying offended their tender sensibilities.

I usually wear one of my company Tshirts out now with "...quemadmodum gladius neminem occidit, occidentis telum est." [...a sword never kills anybody; it's a tool in the killer's hand.]
-- Seneca "the Younger" (ca. 4 BC-65 AD)" on the back. That seems to get lots of thumbs up and "where can I get one of those".

I don't OC but I respect a persons right to do so. I prefer to have no one know that I am armed.
