Ol' Man's .38 Derringer

Post by MattH »

I've been working with a guy for a while who is 70 years old now. I have been trying to get a .38 Derringer off him since I saw it at his house years ago. He finally asked me how much I would pay for it. He told me he payed $150 and I'm thinking thats all he wants out of it. I'm not sure who makes the one he has.. But I was just wondering what ya'll think of that price? It's never been shot, and has all the paperwork and a box. It would definately have some sentimental value, if I got it.

That doesn't sound like a lot of money for a new-in-the-box pistol of any kind. And if it cost $150 years ago, it may be a pretty good firearm. But without knowing more, it's a crap shoot.

Depends on who made it. I think $150 sounds fair as long as it's not a super rarity.

This whole time I was under the impression that it was the Chrome/Wood style but it is the Blued version. I might just save my money and get an LCP because thats what I really want right now. My buddy said he would sell me his LCP, 2 mags, holster, and some ammo for $250.

Yea he is a good friend of mine. He told me I could borrow the LCP and shoot it. I told him no, just becuase I would never lend someone a gun to borrow. I've been asked that before... I have always thought it was a strange question to ask. We've got to get together this weekend anyways, so I'll shoot it this weekend

I picked up my new LCP today from the Gander Mtn. on Route 3 in Fredericksburg. I went yesterday around 5 and I was on "HOLD" by the screening/background check untill 11 this morning :coffee: Gunna take her out back later or possibly tomorrow (for the fellow hunter sake) and see how she does :pistol:

Congrats! The hold thing happens sometimes it's annoying to say the least.
