Funny that she mentions 60% support for handgun control in 1959. At that time in our history the murder with handgun statistics was relatively low and the thought process at that time was that the rate would go down. Never having tried gun control before, the reasoning seemed to be sound. The statistics have not been that low since. Social declines were blamed. Cultural declines were blamed. Violence on television was blamed. I think you all get the idea. Now, as handgun control is loosening up, the statistics are headed back toward the 1959 level. Hmm. I've often wondered why the anti-control crowd has only worked in current statistics.

The 29% support for handgun control, to me, just means that you can fool 29% of the people all the time. Or that you can fool 60% of the people some of the time. Or...
