Re: Enter to Win an Ed Brown Centennial 1911: Charity Raffle
Hey there!
I’m writing a quick note to ask you all for a “Facebook Favor.” It’s really simple, and shouldn’t take too much of your time. I promise, I’ll do my best to make it worth your while.
Our charitable foundation, Kara’s HoPE, was formed to provide direct assistance to families and children, who are coping with a life limiting, and often terminal brain anomaly, known as Holoprosencephaly. We are a non-profit, 501(c )3 charity based in Florida, but with a scope that reaches across the United States.
Although we appreciate the support of each contributor so far, I’m not asking each of you for a cash donation, but what I am asking for is help with publicity, and help in promoting our fundraising events.
We’re raffling off a limited production, custom 1911 prize package from Ed Brown Products and we’re also raffling off a brand new 2012 Porsche Boxster convertible. We need your help to get the word out to as many people as we possibly can. We would appreciate it if you would post, blog and tweet our cause and our events to your social network.
As a way of saying “thank you” for your help, for every ten individual donors whom you refer to us, we will enter you personally into the contest drawing of your choice. All you have to do is make sure these individuals put your name and your e-mail address in the “notes” section of the donation screen when they check out. Our database program will track your leads and you’ll get your promo entry once ten referrals hit the website.
Please feel free to message me through Facebook, or e-mail us: @ KarasFoundation@gmail.com for more information and the full details on our mission and our promotions. I have more information available which will help you as you share our organization’s mission with others.
Your small contribution of time can pay huge dividends for families in great need.
Regards,
Stuart Palmer
(Kara’s Dad)

Please take a moment and "like" us on facebook.
Our page is here: Kara's HoPE
And you can also follow us here on Twitter.
We also have new video up on the website at KarasHoPE.org
Honestly, we still have lots of opportunity for people to participate and even if you're not in a position to make a cash donation, the publicity is worth it's weight in gold, so tell all your friends.
Thanks!

Since I have insomnia, what better to do than post an early Saturday morning update?
Our local campus radio station aired an interview this afternoon which includes a bit of commentary from our physician regarding HPE and the different ways infants and children can be affected. If you're interested, you may listen to it here.
As always, thank you all for your support. Please do share with your social networks. I can't emphasize that enough. As much as we appreciate individual donations, the ability to reach others through the multiplied effect of your sharing is a tremendous benefit to the organization and ultimately, to the families we serve.
Have a great weekend!

Re: Enter to Win an Ed Brown Centennial 1911: Charity Raffle
Working on a press release to go out to media tomorrow, but you all get a sneak peek tonight!
We're excited to announce that our next event will feature an all new model 1911 from Nighthawk Custom! Not only will this model be the latest addition to their line of Richard Heine signature guns, it will be the first production model to come off the gunsmith's bench in late January or early February. Specifications are still being ironed out, but this gun will have the inside of the grip panels inscribed personally by Heine himself and one of the panels will come with a commemorative inscription marking our organization and the winner's participation in our event. The prize gun will come with a certificate of authenticity verifying it's production status as the first of its type.
Photos of a pre-production prototype should be coming from Nighthawk shortly. I'm told that this new model will be featured on an upcoming issue of a well known publication and this will also be one special prize package with a custom shark holster and belt set from the artisans at Nighthawk Custom.
We're not going to launch this next event till the Ed Brown contest has wrapped, so stay tuned, and as always, please share our mission with your friends and family. We'd love to see our message "go viral" across the web. Your participation is always appreciated.
Thanks!

We are very excited to have Smith & Wesson as a new sponsor. We're going to be working with them to come up with a future prize package. Suggestions anyone?

Just to let everyone know, we're all caught up on entries through Wednesday AM. If you haven't gotten your confirmation e-mail yet, please let us know. You can e-mail us at: KarasFoundation@gmail.com
As we head into the weekend, please don't forget to share our mission and our organization with others in your social network. You can find us on Facebook and Twitter, and if you need information to share, just let us know and we'll send you a press release or anything we can that will help.
Here in Gainesville, 95.7% of the town will be shutting down for the Gator's homecoming weekend. We're still available though if anyone has questions.
Thanks!

Re: Enter to Win an Ed Brown Centennial 1911: Charity Raffle
Sorry if this is a long submission:
Thank you all for your contributions and your tangible expressions of support for Kara’s HoPE!
Not too long ago, we took the opportunity to write all of you to ask for your continued help in promoting our organization, and our mission, to your circle of friends. We would like to publicly express our sincere gratitude to each of you who have done so.
We need to repeat (for those receiving this message for the very first time) that this is NOT a plea for more donations from those of you who have already contributed. What we are asking, is that each of you would continue helping to share our organization’s mission through word of mouth, e-mail and other social media like Facebook, Linkedin, YouTube or Twitter.
Here are our links for you to share:
• http://www.KarasHoPE.org
We have been promised that the prize gun will be ready this week or next. Our cutoff for entries will be the 16th of November and the drawing date will be the 18th of November, so please tell your friends that time is running short.
We understand that it seems counterintuitive to help in such a manner that decreases your own odds of winning. If you entered the contest with the intentions of helping to provide encouragement and hope to families, and winning a great prize is secondary, then you’ll understand how we can make this request. It’s only natural to want to help, and we would encourage each of you to please make a commitment to do so.
Many of you already have done this, and we appreciate the notes of encouragement that many of you have sent as well. So, if you want to be part of the bigger picture, if you really want to have an impact on the lives of families and children who are in desperate need of hope and encouragement, please help us spread the word.
Best of luck to you all!

Just bought some more tickets. It's a good cause, and I'm a 1911 addict. PM sent about last purchase.
