Anybody pick up anything yet? I was going to go last night but decided not too...Guns have a bad habit of following me home.
That's something I can't afford with a USC/UMP conversion in the works and a SPR on order!

no pics yet but picked up a Mosin 91/30 and some ammo. left the show around 12 and went to the NRA gunrange and had a blast(pun intened) with the mosin!

Picked up a nice USA-made padded (soft/travel) rifle case for my Ruger 10-22, some G-96 synthetic gun oil, a bore snake for my .22 that actually fits (the one I bought at Wal-Mart is too thick to fit), and 300 rounds of good-quality .30 carbine for my modern M1 carbine. I did not pick-up a single handgun, though I did handle some shotguns and M-14s. Biggest dissapointment, I wanted to pick-up some Butler Creek flip-up scope covers for my 1.5x-4.5x scope for me Ruger and ZIP. Not one in the building, so I'll have to order them online and pay S&H.

I am toying with putting a bug-out bag but resisted the temptation to look into that sort of thing. Same vendors and lay-out...

Got me a new Cowboy style quick draw holster to provide a new home for my Ruger Blackhawk .357. It is brown Hand Tooled leather holster and belt and slings low on the hip and ties down. Perfect for getting getting back into quick draw shooting again.

Shooting a surplus gun without cleaning it first? You're a braver man than I am.

I'm still miffed I missed the show. Couldn't go friday due to obligations, saturday due to work, and sunday (which I had planned on) due to last minute information.

*sigh* I guess I'll have to catch the next in november, especially since it's the three days before my one year younger celebration!.... ....What?

It's not the cosmetic cosmoline that's the problem, it's the grease in the bore and chamber. The bore grease can spike chamber pressure and the chamber grease reduces the hold the case has on the chamber as it's being fired, making stress on the bolt lugs far higher than normal.

i wiped down the bolt and chamber right after i got it.
