If you had to sell all but one
If you had to sell all but one
Suppose you are broke, no job, and thinking of selling all but one of your guns, which one would you keep?
I'll go first, it would be my Ruger GP100. Not my favorite, but it is the most versatile and practical.

I faced that two years ago. I sold a pump shotgun at a loss, and a Ruger Vaquero first year Sheriff's Model. Stupid wife left earlier that year.

I would have to keep my Savage 110 30.06 rifle

Hey, isn't this unfair? Kinda like the Kobayashi Maru? I mean, which child would you sell?
Hehehe...
But seriously... I'd have a hard time choosing. But probably the last one I'd let go is my regular concealed carry piece - my Para OPS .45 ACP.

Keep your EDC and you can do the most with it. Great part about guns. If you treat them right they hold their value pretty well.

I'd get a loan to cover whatever crisis arose, if that was not an option I'd sell only one gun......... It's a .22lr starter pistol I originally bought for my son so he would be used to the sound of his .22lr pistol I bought him so we could go shooting.

I only have two guns, an AMC 9mm Back-up and a 45 cal. Taurus PT-145 Millenium. I carry the Taurus so it would definitely be the last one I would sell.

I'd hate to give up my AK's. But since I can't CC a rifle, I'd have to keep my Kimber Pro Carry.

Re: If you had to sell all but one
Seems that the EDC is winning out.
The combo that works best all the way around seems to be a .357 revolver, a .22LR rifle, and a pump shotgun. I have told first time gun buyers that are interested in starting a collection that these three give you the most options, easiest to find ammo, and fun to shoot.

Re: If you had to sell all but one
I only have one, at the moment. I chose mine on the thought that it would be fairly easy to hit my target should I be awakened by an intruder.

Re: If you had to sell all but one
I guess at this point I'd probably just keep my S&W 5906. I could use it for home defense, carry (even though it's a brick), it is dead reliable, and I have a ton of high cap magazines for it already. I don't want to really think about having to downgrade to one firearm though. *shivers*

EDC for me, but glad I don't have to make that decision! I spend too much time thinking about what to get next to worry about what to let go.

First to go would be my Kel-Tec P11 (Think I've had it for 13yrs!!)..then the XDm...then would be hard to choose between the SIG P229 and 3rd Gen G19.

I have a GP, too. And it is my favorite... but that being said, I'd keep my S&W J-frame Centennial (642). It's my CC gun and ain't too shabby as a home defense weapon.N0VA wrote:...it would be my Ruger GP100. Not my favorite, but it is the most versatile and practical.

I have a bunch of stuff to sell before getting to the guns in my personal collection. I sell and service guns for a living but the ones at my house are worth much more to me than the other stuff. It is hard to kill a deer with an end table.

Re: If you had to sell all but one
Of the nine guns i own I would personally keep the pistol I carry most often when out and about. Can still use that for home defense. But I can't exactly carry my home defense shotgun in walmart without looking like this
