Glock 27 Lone Wolf barrel malfunctions.

Just wanted to take a min to do a quick write up on my Glock 27 that I out fitted with a lone wolf 4" 2 port barrel. First trip to the range I was getting fail to extracts so just putting this out there for whoever is searching for info on their gun builds. Anyways as I stated I put a lone wolf barrel in a 27. I ran a 50 round course of fire and had about 5 fail to extracts. Tried different ammo, did function test with dummy rounds and was getting same results. Then I put in the Glock factory barrel and had zero malfunctions. I put the lone wolf barrel back in and ran it till i got a malfunction and started examining the gun before removing the brass. I noticed the extractor was sticking out a little with the slide in the "locked" position and the spent case still in the chamber. I cycled the slide and the casing still remained in the chamber, it was clear the extractor was not grabbing the rim of the casing. I broke the gun down for examination and found a contact point on the edge of the feed ramp. At this point the barrel was dirty with the exception of one little spot where the extractor was making contact with the feed ramp. There was also a corresponding mark on the extractor.

You can see the difference in the glock barrel and the LW barrel. The glock edges are "folded" like, as the LW aren't

I contacted LWD and have to send the barrel back to them. The rep said they will have to examine the barrel and see what the issue is and if in fact it is a product issue they will pay me back for shipping cost and im assuming credit me for the barrel. I thought about fixing the barrel myself with a file but decided since it was still brand new i would let them handle it before i take the ol american hammer to it to fix it. The barrel did perform well otherwise.

I am a new Glock owner; have seen Lone Wolf references before but am not familiar with their products. What are the advantages of buying their stuff vs. factory originals? Also, how much do y'all keep in the way of spare parts for your Glocks, since they seem to be everywhere? I am wondering to what extent I should stockpile any parts.

As you state, Glock parts are available from multiple sources. I don't stock pile any Glock parts. I do have a spare Glock pistol though.

LW barrels in .40 seem to have more issues than in other calibers. Anecdotally speaking, of course.

I got a threaded barrel for my G22, it couldn't even chamber a round. Kept smashing them into the outside top of the breechface. Factory barrel worked fine.

The LW 9mm conversion barrel in the same gun works perfectly.

I went with the LW barrel to have the stainless, extended ported barrel. Made from quality steel also. As far as spare parts, I keep a few lying around. I have 4 glocks and am a glock armorer so friends always want favors They are cheap so if i need to order one part i usually get 2 or 3 and put them in my parts box.
