Do local dealers lower thier prices at the gun shows?
Anyone know if local dealers lower thier prices on new guns at the gun shows. Or is it thier everyday prices?

I'm not aware of any discounting.

From what I've seen at the Hampton show, they may even bump their prices up a bit!

Engage your brain!

I agree. I've found a few good deals at gun shows, but most of the stuff ranges from right about the normal rate to waaayy overpriced. You definitely have to educate yourself about what things are worth.Yarddawg wrote:From what I've seen at the Hampton show, they may even bump their prices up a bit!

try pawn shops, once in awhile you can strike a real bargain.

Yep. My brother bought me a reloading manual at the Hampton show. When we got it home I noticed a price sticker underneath the top price sticker. I gently peeled off the top sticker and guess what. The one underneath showed a cheaper price.Yarddawg wrote:From what I've seen at the Hampton show, they may even bump their prices up a bit!

Agreed! After 30 years of gunshows I can definitely say you go there for the hard to find items, not DEALS!
There ARE NO MORE DEALS! GO HOME!
If you scan the interwebz, and git catalogs from a buncha different people, you learn three things:
-Bladed items generally come from Bud K, Smokey Mountain Knife Works, and Sportsmen's Guide.
-Cleaning supplies for guns are less expensive at Wal-mart, and the local gunshops.
-NEVER BUY FROM THE FIRST GUY! No matter what! Because you'll find THREE guys after you buy ANYTHING who have it less than the price you paid!

I can say with certainty, some prices are lower.
I bought a .22 from a local store a couple months ago.
At the most recent local gun show, the retailer was there
with the exact same model for $30 less.
