Not new but...

Hello All,
I'm not new but I haven't been on the forums for years. With all the activity in Richmond I figure it's time to get active again.

Range near Lexington VA?

Howdy,
Camping near Natural Bridge this weekend and wondering if anyone knows of an outdoor range in the area. Can't really find anything on the interwebs.

Re: 46 degrees at my house at 5:45 this morning.

Several months ago I channel surfed and found Suspicious0bservers on Youtube. Daily 5 or less minute reports on weather and other Earth events. Covers Solar weather as the main focus. He gathers real information from NASA, NOAA, and other places. Great video clips of Sun shots. He is part of the gro...

Re: Fast-food workers in walkout to protest low wages

What the heck? Why do I keep hearing that you can't earn a living working at fast food. When could you ever earn a living? Perhaps a manager but you can't expect to take vacations in Paris every year. This is just activist journalism. It's also short sided and dumb. As said in previous posts, when y...

Re: Please Help!

I just started reloading but taking an stab here. What is the diameter of the bullet? I'm thinking it may be slightly to large. I realize the box might be correct but could this be a bad batch?

Re: First LEO encounter while carrying

Last year I was pulled over by a VA state trooper. When he came up to my car I handed him my drivers license and CCW permit. I told him I had a loaded pistol in my car. He took a quick look at my CCW and said "I don't care about that" as he handed it back to me. I still think it a very, ve...

Cleaning cases

Howdy, I've recently started reloading. Had all the stuff sitting in a box for a year as I was a bit anxious about doing it. I've completed and fired 50 rounds of .45 ACP. They fired great and I know what powder load I want to use. I had bought 500 new shell cases, thank God way before they dried up...

Hum, seems a bit much. I've done these two things and have made a noticeable difference. http://www.ebay.com/itm/170904528205?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 I've seen people on Youtube that have used springs from food bag clips and such. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RlsxqR...

Re: Obama to Charge 14 Governors with Treason?

Yeah doesn't sound right. I'd also think it would be all over the place. I think the thing to track would be whether these SDF forces are really being created. No SDF force, no paper.

LOL,
The great debate of the AK versus the AR continues!

What you all are trying to ignore is that the Mosin trumps all! Mu-ha-ha-ha-ha!

Referring to some peoples comments about leaving the safety off and how crayons won't stop an AK.

No but that opening is large enough to let in metal objects like nuts, bolts, screws, and so forth. Who doesn't have them rolling around in their pickup?

Re: Can I alter a C&R weapon?

Ok I think I see what your saying. The legal stuff makes my head turn and I love playing games with complicated rules. It only has 5 round mags but must admit I don't know what "high cap" count is. You can purchase 10 round and of course once you have the mag well you can put whatever coun...

Not an engineer but I play one on TV... I know I could screw the pooch by not having a clear path for bullet flight but I do love tinkering around with stuff. Plus silencers seem to be about the price or more of a lot of guns. Sorry but one more question. Seems that there is talk online that ...

Re: Can I alter a C&R weapon?

Thanks!, So for a recap, 1) changing or adding any part that is on the list counts as "assembling" a weapon. 2) If you change or add any part on the list you may then only have 10 of those items that are foreign even if you had more then 10 items to begin with. Another assumption on my par...

Re: Anybody like 45's?

Thanks JD, That was enough for a google search. Found a good PDF on it. Not sure it's up to date as the ATF links are broken. http://www.silencerresearch.com/Silencerguide.pdf Had to do google searches on the forms to get to the ATF page that have the forms. The ATF web site isn't so easy to navigat...
