Re: Cabin in the Woods !
Randy, I'm about 6-7 miles on the other side of the Rt. 10 bridge to Hopewell. I realize this property is probably another half hour-ish past there, or more, but I'm going to have to insist that I come out there and make sure that the cabin and range are up to par. The pictures look great, but I lik...

Re: Fired For Carrying a Weapon to Work Violating Company Policy
When the Wachovia Bank branches where I live became Wells-Fargo, "no guns" signs on the front door were part of the new look. It's part of why we switched banks. The article stated that she was a "bank manager", which I suppose means at a branch. She would have walked past a &quo...

Re: Did anyone else hear that loud "sonic boom" down Chester?
I didn't hear that one, but I do occasionally hear booms in Chester. I know that the landfill on Rt 10 by Shoosmith has a bomb squad demolition area, and they blow stuff up occasionally. But that's a bit away from Ruffin Mill & Jeff.

Alan... I recently read an article on that gun and it immediately went on my wish list. I've been a revolver guy, but I've been contemplating a semi-auto, specifically a 1911, but this gun may have jumped ahead. Give a review when you get it. When I go for handgun ammo, 9mm is typically more availab...

Re: Mikhail Kalashnikov has died
I think of Kalashnikov as being in the top 10 of firearms designers; not Browning, but deserving note for his design of the AK. Fox News posted a brief article from the Associated Press. The whole thing just pissed me off. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2013/12/23/mikhail-kalashnikov-dead-at-4-designe...

Re: Garand
I got one not long ago, but have not had it to the range yet. One of the things that has been noted in some of the reading that I've done is that modern commercial ammo has the potential to damage the operating rod because of higher pressure. The website http://www.garandgear.com/ has a lot of...

Funny you mention that... My purchase was a Henry .22 pump-action.MarcSpaz wrote:I wonder if anyone has had any luck carrying a different type of long gun, like a Henry 1860 or a Winchester lever gun. Maybe a long gun that is "less intimidating" may be a better way to easy the public back into it.

Re: Another inbred redneck carrying an AR in Walmart
"What I think is its funny that store in the video sells long guns. Are they throwing people out for carrying a gun in the store right after a customer buys one?" actually, I bought a 22 at Walmart several years ago. They escorted me to the door to take it to my car immediately after the p...

William, that is a beautiful and thoughtful gift to a son who is a history buff and hoplophile! Based on what you noted that he has already, good on you for your thoughtfulness of what would complement his collection/accumulation. Looks like you know a bit about this gun's provenance, so you can pas...

The folks at my workplace have many different vehicles. No stickers that I've noticed, though... I work in an ethnically diverse workplace and, although most are Dem/Lib-leaning, I was surprised (well, not really) at how many are just plain anti-gun. They have stories about bad neighborhoods or some...
