Re: So, what "percent" are you?
The decision to cut the percentage that someone has to pay on their loan and cut the payments to 20 years max is also going to make the problem worse on education costs. Less incentive to learn something useful. That is something I am trying to teach my boys right now. One of them is definitely coll...

Re: Pot Scrubbers are on ATF's list as a firearm
As for me, as a dorky envirodweeb, i have rechargeable electric yard implements (no gas fumes in my face while I work!) and abstain from chemical fertilizers, so I'm safe. I prefer the gas powered stuff. I'm currently looking for gas powered kitchen appliances, and maybe even a gas-powere...

Re: Pot Scrubbers are on ATF's list as a firearm
Its also unwise to keep too much gasoline or fertilizer in the shed. Other household chemicals are problematic too. Of course, what constitutes "too much", who knows? As I recall Tim Kaine thought something like 350 rounds of ammo was a "stockpile" or "arsenal" or some...

I look at them more as the crabs that pull the other crabs, that are trying to climb out of the basket, back into the basket. . This is also exactly the peasant mentality. It's why the communists were able to take over in Russia so easily, because of this instilled tendency of people who think like...

Re: So, what "percent" are you?
I'm actually surprised to be as high as that calculator places me. Because even though I'm in a higher percentile than I expected my income to be, I certainly don't consider myself to be rich by any means. Haven't got a single hundred-dollar bill I could bring myself to burn for tinder. And I certa...

Re: So, what "percent" are you?
A few other things I learned growing up poor - Many times we didn't have a car, and one point lived up north , with no car. Getting groceries was no joy in the winter, so don't tell me about no dang food desert. We didn't eat junk food - we could not afford it. We bought the basic staples and COOKED...

Re: So, what "percent" are you?
I'm at the bottom 17%. That said, I own my car out right. I own my shelter outright. I have 3 monthly bills: phone, lot rent, and car insurance. Some would look at my lifestyle and say that I am poverty stricken. Myself, I say that I am blessed. All of my basic needs are met, and I include gun and ...

I have mentioned this to a few of my classes....been out a while now. The designer says that he has numerous documented "saves" due to this product. If it saves one life, its good enough for me. Maybe.. but if I am gonna use it I am gonna need to do a lot of changeup to my routine. I mean...

Re: Who let the lions out!!?
I never saw a reason to personally have anything bigger than a 30-30 where I live, because the sight lines aren't great with the bushes, scrub and trees and the hills. Now I am starting to rethink.. I mean I never figured I would need something to stop a grizzly, and most likely still I never will.....

I will agree that suicide is a cowardly act (and I will add that it's also a selfish act), and I will also agree that this man acted selfishly in every way during the last day or two of his life. That said, he appeared to be having legal problems surrounding his keeping of these animals. I have to ...

Re: Does the "soak the rich" tax scheme work?
The bottom line - in America today , even most of the poor have so many more riches than all but the most wealthy of centuries past. Almost every home has running water and electricity, most have more than one television, refrigerators and freezers, stoves, even air conditioners. When you look at th...

Dang it , got distracted with work (the original 4 letter word) and forgot to mention - this is for registered users of California legal medical marijuana not just recreational users.

BATF to Cali gun dealers - no guns for pot users
What this really amounts to is the Federal government placing a restriction on who can own a gun over and above the requirements set by the state. Yes I know those already exist but this is pushing it further, IMO
