Re: DSA FAL

There is a great polymer magazine for them; called Moses Mags. The guy who developed them has really done his homework and they seem to be top notch.

Re: Harrisonburg/August Demos?

I live in the county. Crime is very low from what I've experienced/seen in town. I live out in the country so I see less of town than someone who lives there obviously. It's fairly cheap to live here, although if your job isn't long term (my job got cut in Aug and have been UE since then) there aren...

Re: Traitors vs. Whistleblower

'National security' a term that's overly used. Frequently information is classified in an attempt to hide dealings that a group (whether it's the admin or any alphabet agency) that has very little to do with actual security and everything about shady dealings.

I certainly respect Cuccinich; he's outright and open about his beliefs, unlike dein fuhrer.

Re: AK Build Party?

Dave - Here's something of a teaser then. All put together after I laid a coat of brown on it. I couldn't just bend the lip at the rear of the dustcover - the gap was too large I thought and didn't want to risk bending the whole thing. I think I would have had to make a cut where the 90* bends are f...

Re: AK Build Party?

Yeah, those are some dang good receivers. They are a little long, though. I fount that out when I went to put the dust cover on. It did get all assembled, I just haven't taken any pics yet. That stock went together WAY differently than I thought it would. The dust cover needed a bead on the back of ...

Re: AK Build Party?

Honestly, it was pretty good that there weren't more than the three of us. Safaridave even had a lot of work done beforehand, it was just atomicpunk and myself. It would no doubt go faster the next time though, due to experience. I'm working on having more tools available, too.

Re: Michelle Obama is from the government and she's here to help

I think my overall college degree was both a waste of time and money. B.S. (BS stand for Bullshit, IMO) in aviation systems management. One would think that combined with an A&P I'd be able to find work, but it is REALLY tough out there. Sad part is that jobs don't pay nearly what they should fo...

Re: AK Build Party?

Those kits are a total steal. Everything except the receiver, the receiver is ~$300, depending on which one you get. I think the only real tools required are a fixture to time the barrel to the receiver, then check headspace.

Re: AK Build Party?

That's great. We may want to turn it into a FAL party, too. I saw somewhere where kits w/barrels (VG condition) were $325. That is a great deal. Unfortunately I've never even seen a FAL let alone handled one.

Re: MAK-90 rebuild

I could use a press to demill a kit. I have a cut barrel with the components on it still. I couldn't get out the barrel pin or the RSB pin. I thought a press would be way easier than beating the crap outta them with a hammer. The smaller pins came out without issue.

It's only a small 5.9 gal tank. I'd be willing to buy more tools if I had a job or source of steady income. I've got a dremel, too.

Re: AK Build Party?

I do have a small air compressor that could be used. Also a spot welder isn't on the list, people that don't have receivers prepped and ready to go would need that also.

Re: MAK-90 rebuild

My plan was to bolt/screw mine in until I had the ability to weld them. Welding of course is the best, but screwing them in will work also because it's fairly easy to fill those holes where the screws were with weld. Not the prettiest, but it'll work.

Re: MAK-90 rebuild

How are you going to get the rails attached? I assume weld them in, spot welder?
