Re: Recommendation for barrel replacement
I have had all my gunsmith work done by Dan Mumaw at Middletown Firearms LLC. Maybe 1/2 mile off I81 at exit 302. He does excellent work.

Re: July 19: does Gainesville Cabela's have primers?
I picked up CCI small rifle primers from Cabelas for $65/1,000, back June 24. But no primers last week Thursday. Ace Miller hardware had primers for about $100/1000 this past Saturday. It's a hit or miss, and the prices are very high. Good luck.

My wife loves her Ruger SR22. Its about the only caliber she will shoot. She has difficulties handling slides since she injured her hand. I must admit I also enjoy putting a few down range

Re: Anyone know of a good range near Front Royal?
I am a member of the Winchester Frederick County Conservation Club (WFCCC). It takes me about 45 minutes from Front Royal. There is an Izaak Walton chapter in Browntown, Warren county. Friends of mine tried to get me into the Frederick County Izaak Walton chapter, but unfortunately Warren county res...

Re: New wood grip panels
Glad you liked them and they worked out for you. Did you let your wife have a go with it as well? I need to reload light 38's for her. My wife injured her right hand years ago, and lost some strength. She typically sticks with her three 22lr pistols. She does love the look of the Ruger with the new...

New wood grip panels
About a week ago I picked up my Ruger SP101 (357) grip from Taggure. I wanted to post a couple of photos of his fine work. He used Bloodwood for the panels, with 3 coats of tung oil. I am extremely pleased with the workmanship. Surprised more of you have not taken him up, on his generous offer. I im...

Welcome to the forum. You should also look into Izaak Walton at Brentsville. It would be just minutes south of Manassas.

They would band it just before entering the show. Leave the ammo behind.

Re: Show This Weekend
I arrived Friday 4pm, as usual the line was gone, and went right in. The rain may have kept man away, because the crowd appeared small. The only line I saw were at the T & T reloading tables. It had to be about a 30-45 minute wait. Went elsewhere to pick up a reloading book, powder, and ammo (30...

I know you stated FMJ, but Lyman Reloading Handbook (49th ed), does list a 115gr Hornady XTP, for 9mm, using Titegroup. It's listed on page 341.
Hope this helps

You may also find a good deal for ammo at the Chantilly Gun Show, or combine your purchase with someone else to get a better price.

Re: Your favorite of your collection?
I enjoy shooting all of my firearms, but my favorite gun is my Ruger SP101 357 magnum, 2.25" barrel. In SA or DA it is a joy to fire. It is also my OC of choice.
