Night Sights
I am a phosphorescent pigment engineer and a firearms enthusiast. I wrote an article on the benefits, limitations, and correct application of night sights (glow in the dark, photoluminescent, phosphorescent) that I thought some of you might enjoy. http://www.glowforum.com/showthread.php?15661-Glow-i...

Re: Google Virtual Tours of Firearm Businesses
Hi RugerJoe, Thanks for the info. I have checked with Google and have confirmed that they do not censure firearm related businesses for any of their mapping products. If I can find gun stores or ranges excited about getting a Virtual Tour, we have a full green light! I think this is a great opportun...

I am a professional photographer for Google and specialize in photographing and mapping the new Google Virtual Tours. These tours allow you to walk through businesses right from Google search results. As a firearms enthusiast, I have found the best way to take the "scary" out of "shad...

50 Caliber BMG Serbu Video
Here is a video I took of a variety of people shooting a 50 Caliber Rifle for the first time. Notice the feeling of joy just after pulling the trigger.

Video on Phosphorescent Paint for Sights
One of our customers did this video on using Phosphorescent (glow in the dark) paint for sights. It offers a lot of good information and shows some demonstrations.

Sloppy Seconds
Our trap shooting group has designed a new Fun Fire game called "Sloppy Seconds". Played on a trap field, the game lasts 10 rounds, with players taking turns going first. It is played with two shooters. In each round, Shooter A calls Pull, then fires at the clay. If Shooter A misses, or hi...

Re: P226 handles different than P220
Second trip out to the range and 100 rounds later. 5" groups at 25 feet about 3 inches to the left. I spoke to an experienced NRA Instructor today on the phone and he suggests that my hands are probably too small for the double-stack magazine grip. I am meeting up with him next month. He is goi...

P226 handles different than P220
After owning a Sig P220 45ACP for 2 decades, I decided to purchase a Sig P226 9mm Platinum Elite. I waited my 7 days and picked it up today. I thought this gun would feel very similar to my P220 with a bit less kick. I was wrong on that assumption. To give some comparison, I can shoot about a 4"...

Re: Ruger 10/22-good starting Rifle?
My very first "real" gun purchase was a Ruger 10/22 when I was 18. Over 20 years later, I have more than a handful of guns and the 10/22 is still one of my favorite to shoot.
I highly recommend that you get a few of the 25 shot ruger brand magazines.

Re: Gun Club near Fredericksburg OPEN HOUSE 10 September 2011
I look forward to visiting for the open house tommorow. That is assuming I can find a route from Colonial Beach area. A lot of roads in the area are simply now gone due to the flooding. 3 lake dams gave away just in my neighborhood of Placid Bay.

Well, I just got back to Placid Bay. 3 of the dam's let loose and all but one of our beautiful lakes dumped into the river. I am seriously bummed out. You can see pictures at www.facebook.com/placidbay

Re: New 9MM Advice - Sig P226 or CZ 75B?
Just a note that your prices may be a bit off. I just ordered a Sig P226 Platinum Elite for $1020 at a gunshop in MD. Of course, there is 6% MD Tax and the other BS fees from MD. I should also note that I have owned my Sig P220 for two decades now and it has been one of the best purchases of my life...

Re: Self Defence options other than guns
Many people overlook learning karate or other forms of fighting as a self defense weapon. I am 40 and weigh 300 pounds (and I will give you a hint, it isn't muscle). I took up karate as an exercise program about 6 months ago. I must say that I now think I could difuse many situations without carryin...

Re: Good scope for my 10/22
One of the biggest issues for selecting a rimfire scope is the parallax focus setting. Most factory-set scopes are set to focus parallax at 100 yards. Typical rimfire shooting is about 50 yards. This means that your aim can be several inches off for typical shooting. Scopes marked as "rimfire&q...

I know, I know, I need pictures. Right now, it is back into peices awaiting some thread-lock and the sight. When I get it all back together, I promise lots of pictures.

Ruger 10/22 with Nordic Components AR-22 body
The first gun I ever purchased was a Ruger 10/22 when I was 18. 22 years later, I decided to give it some upgrades. The first upgrade was a Nordic Components AR-22 kit. It offers a pistol grip, picatinny rail, adjustable stock, and AR hand grip. Unlike the Archangel kit which is plastic, It is fully...

New to the group from Placid Bay
Hi Everyone, I am new to the group and the area. Due to work, I live part time in Placid Bay (near Colonial Beach) and part time in the suburbs of Baltimore. I own a small company called Glow Inc that manufactures high-end glow in the dark paint. I am also the President of The CrackerJacks, the olde...
