Re: 20 shot overnight in Chicagoland
It would be soooo much worse it everyone was allowed to carry guns in self defense. I don't understand why little old virginia doesn't have that much crime in one night?!

Re: If you had to sell all but one
Oh sorry I usually carry either my colt 1911 or my taurus PT140. One of those would be the last to go.

Re: If you had to sell all but one
Of the nine guns i own I would personally keep the pistol I carry most often when out and about. Can still use that for home defense. But I can't exactly carry my home defense shotgun in walmart without looking like this

Re: sportsman license and hunting license
The website you want is http://www.HuntFishVA.com. It will take you to the Va. Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. On the left hand side click on Hunting and then Hunter Education. I took the course Saturday a week ago. It was time well spent. I did a hunter education thing when I was really y...

Re: sportsman license and hunting license
Ok I'll google that with virginia and see what comes up. I've always hunted on private land and I know the law says you don't need a hunting license for private land, but this year I'm planning on going with my best friend and maybe with my girlfriends father. I'm hopping he isn't taking me into the...

Re: sportsman license and hunting license
I don't know what DNR is but I did a search for it(DNR+hunting) in google and I got linked to Indiana laws. Couldn't find one linked to VA laws. Do you have the link or what the letters DNR stands for? In my line of work DNR stands for Do Not Resuscitate, which I have always followed when it comes t...

Re: sportsman license and hunting license
Ah I read further down and they have another box for large game. I thought a hunting license was a license. So much headache. No wonder I never bothered getting one before. But this year I'm hunting with some friends not just private land so thought I better play it safe. Thank you for the help!

sportsman license and hunting license
Does anyone know the difference between the sportsman license and a hunting license? This is the first year I'm purchasing a license and I was a little confused by the Game and Inland Fisheries website. Thanks in advance!

Re: Best place to get a Garand?
aren't there 800,000 garands in korea waiting to get shipped back to the us if some law gets passed or failed? I know they used to be relatively cheap at cmp years ago but at $800+ now-a-days I can't justify it. My all matching #s including bayonet dragoon M91 was less than $150 shipped and taxed. ...

Re: AR-15 in my car?
A guitar case is probably a bad idea - I can see that being more of a temptation than a nondescript soft case. Guitar's a lot easier to sell/pawn than a gun.
Thats why I said I wouldn't want it in my backseat in a case. I would rather have it in a trunk or something I can lock to kee...

Re: AR-15 in my car?
Personally I would get a case and place it in that. You can find a guitar case that will fit an AR. Personally I wouldn't want it in just a case in my back seat. I would be to afraid someone would break into my truck one day for the change on the floorboard and find that jewel in the back seat, but ...

Re: Firearm Unfriendly Businesses in Virginia
I love signs that say no guns allowed. Cause that makes criminals curse and simply walk away. The Buffalo Wild Wings in Charlottesville also has sign that says no firearms allowed. If you open carry in you will be asked by management to leave. I never saw their sign the first time I went in. T...

Re: CCW holder driving through MD
A lawyer pointed out this technicality. I live in VA. Do you know how hard it is to travel one end to the other without going through a National Forest or Park? Same principle. Have a good trip. Yeah but VA has a law now where you can carry concealed in National forests or parks. I think I'm just g...

Re: CCW holder driving through MD
My saddle bags are a strong cloth sadly, but I do have a lock box I can place the pistol in. I could then place that in my saddle bag but I have a feeling that is not good enough. I don't plan on stopping in MD so I wouldn't think I would have any trouble. But I like to stay in the law and make sure...

Hey guys I know this section is kinda old but I was wondering if you guys could help me too. I'm trying to figure out how to legally carry my pistol across Maryland without running into trou...
