Re: First Gun Needs Food.
I found out today that my 30 cent bullets were steel jacketed lead and my local shooting range did not allow them. I guess that I'll have to find somewhere else to shoot them. :) My SKS says "made in china by usa" with a serial number, chinese markings, and a triangle design. So I guess ch...

Re: WTB Mosin–Nagant
Thanks for all of the links! The last I checked the (non original) sniper variants were going around 300-400, so it's useful to see they are around 400-500 now. I found a local pawn shop with a FFL who is willing to receive packages for me if I find one online. I'll have to wait a few weeks before I...

Re: First Gun Needs Food.
Thank you for all of the information.
I'll be placing an order for something in the 20 cent/bullet range.
In the meantime I asked around and found a small store that stocks at around 30 cents.

First Gun Needs Food.
I just bought my first gun, a SKS. My second I'm planning to be a Mosin Nagant. Anyways, The day I bought my SKS I was so excited to shoot it I bought the cheapest amo I saw out of two stores which was over 1$ a bullet. I saw there were other forums about ammo, but I wanted to post my own question. ...

looking for a Mosin–Nagant and I am unsure where to look.
Would prefer a Finnish, but I'm open to others.
Hoping someone here has one, or can point me in the right direction.
PM or reply here.
I'm in the Lynchburg area.

I must have broke a rule with my second post, because my account was deleted. For my second post after the above I was browsing the marketplace and saw a reference to bumper stickers in a thread, so I posted a link to where I had my last one made. Glad to see the moderators here are very active, bu...

Re: New in Lynchburg VA
Shooting a larger caliber requires the same skills as a smaller one. Usually there is more recoil/muzzle blast/etc. A 30 cal rifle is very useful in VA. You can hunt with it (deer, bear, and even varmints with the right bullet, but 30cal is about as big as those bullets get), you can target shoot, ...
