Re: Reasoning for private ownership of assualt guns
I have a reason to have my handguns and shotguns in my home and on my person; defense of the home and defense for myself. Other than "They are cool" or "they are fun" (and they are! I remember from my military days...), what is the reasoning behind purchasing an assault weapon? ...

It is a presidential election year.
Obama was voted the best gun salesman of the year in 2008.
Looks like he is on the way to winning that award again.

This is a little more off topic, but to promote shooting: She is just not into the idea of a gun in the house. Its that .001 % chance she worrys about. Ive said it all "ammo and gun in differnt safes, blah blah blah". But her kids are curious creatures. I plan on educating them so there is...

Holsters "trying it for size"
I have searched & searched. Are there / is there somewhere that has a collection or display or inventory of different holsters (other than LEO suppliers) that I can "try on" before purchase?
Most of the posts that I see are from people that have bought & don't use it.
Thanks!

I went to Walmart, cc, 380BG, iwb, no problems. I had to leave it at home this evening because I had travel to a military base. I felt completely "wrong", kind of nervous and on edge. I didn't like the long commute down the highway by myself. I felt very vulnerable.

I wonder what would happen if several people flying to the NRA convention on the same plane wore T-shirts with a picture of a gun & NRA emblem?

7-Eleven prohibits carrying firearms into its stores questio
This is a story about a store clerk shooting an armed robber in VA Beach.IMHO, People that make corporate policy need to be in the store, not sitting in a safe office making decisions about other people's lives. I have one other suggestion & question. A couple of say 36"x 48" fleece blankets. These can be wrapped around here head &/ or used as a scarf. They are light weight but doubled up are very warm. She can put one. Astound her shoulders & the other around her legs. Does she have g...

If a gun is in a holster then it will not go off. Dispite the myths you may have heard there are no such things as trigger grimlins that reach into hostlers and pull people's trigger. For a while, now, I've tried to come up with something to equal the success of the pet rock. Jake, you may have fou...

Pot Scrubbers are on ATF's list as a firearm
Pot Scrubbers are on the ATF's list as a firearm. Here is an excerpt from the article: "And further, an otherwise-lawful owner of a registered silencer probably ought to find something else to clean pots and pans with, as possession of an unspecified quantity of Chore Boy cleaning pads could be...

I've started carrying quickclot in the range bag, loose granular plus the type that comes in a syringe-like applicator for penetrating injuries. That paired with a IFK with add-ons like chest seals, NP airway + 10 years of ems training should give me a bit more of an chance of helping in the event ...

Re: Top 10 cities America's veterans call home
I think "serious" is a relative term. VA Beach is a large tourist area, so I'm sure the crime goes up quite a bit during the tourist months. It is also a huge city by land mass. Several local counties in the area incorporated when the cities of Portsmouth & Norfolk tried to annex one t...

Re: Buyer's Remorse?
One thing that was pointed out is that BG380 will fire when the trigger is pulled. If there is a FTF, just pull the trigger again and the hammer drops again without ejecting a shell. How does this help? If it FTF the first time, do you think it will fire on the second try? Yes, this does happen. I'...

Re: Buyer's Remorse?
I like S&W. My hubby shoots Sig's. The sigs are to large for my hands. I like the 380 for cc. it is small & light, but I can handle the recoil. I tried the j-frame light revolvers. I couldn't hold them for the recoil. I own the BG380. I held the diamondback 380 and it felt great too. I went ...

[/quote] Interesting that until recently whole generations, often younger than that, took their guns to school, went hunting, etc. all without adult supervision. Don't seem to recall the epidemic of child/mass shootings either. There is no age at which one becomes responsible. It's a myth and one we...

And this would have been prevented with a Safety Bullet instead of an unloaded firearm just how? This was in reply to the post about his son is 13 & dad trusts son with gun handling around his peers. No, it would have been prevented if dad had not trust a 14 year old boy at home after school by...
