Re: What happens in Dearborn will not stay in Dearborn

Cap 85 please have a soda and calm down just a bit. The point was not does evil and death exist in the world....everyone knows that and it is in every culture. The question was asked do we ever hear of Muslims protesting Christian churches...the answer was yes we can look at this country for a spec...

Re: What happens in Dearborn will not stay in Dearborn

You hear quite a bit about Christians protesting Muslims (Koran burning, NYC community center, etc), but this article got me thinking about Muslims protesting Christians at their churches. My Google-fu skills are pretty sharp, but I couldn't find any relevant stories. Christie is dead on. If you ev...

Jeff at US Tactical in Oakton is quite slow I think due to his regular job, but does really beautiful work. Probably the best I've seen anywhere.

Re: Glock Talk: Your thoughts?

I carry a 1911 at work, shot them all my life and my all time favorite gun is my Wilson CQB. That said, if I'm ever trying to CC it's generally a glock 19 and I don't feel a 1911 really excels in that role, at least not in the way the glock can. At the end of the day you need to find what is comfort...

Re: 80 Killed in Norway Shooting and Bombing

Many of the victims ran towards the murderer, who was dressed as a cop. Blind faith in even the trappings of authority is seldom rewarded kindly. Its noteworthy the actual cops sat idly by playing with themselves while he was doing his thing, much as they do here in America when presented with a re...

Re: Washington, DC Firearm Transportation

My point is something totally different all together, I don't care if the department has improved, as I alone am responsible for my safety. The SCOTUS has already absolved any police from responsibility for the safety of your person, and even if they had not, I do not trust them to be there when sec...

Re: Why We Need to Welcome Liberals to the Cause of the 2A

Just read the thread and wanted to toss in my 2 cents about the original post. I'll be the first to admit I'm extremely uncomfortable with gays kissing in public etc, but I would gladly support their right to marry. Why? Because even if I don't like looking at it, they aren't kissing me so I don't c...

Sort of off subject here but just thought this might be an interesting read for dems4guns, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warren_v._District_of_Columbia I don't agree with much of what has been posted here from either side but it's hard to deny that you as an individual are responsible for your own s...

Re: Sharpshooter's/Gilbert's off 7100

Waiting on a suppressor I bought through these guys right now. Some of the staff seems disinterested or to only be interested in their friends, but there are 3 or 4 guys in there I've spoken with, one of whom I believe is the manager, who are absolutely great to deal with. I don't shoot there, but I...

Re: Ron Paul Wins CPAC Straw Poll

I'm (obviously) not a Paul fan...but even if he were President today; the Legislative and Judicial branches would screw him over every turn and he'd get not one of his ideas passed, so I guess it doesn't matter if he ever wins? I'd much rather have an ineffectual Paul who will actually support the ...

Re: Webb Not Seeking Reelection

I'm sort of a 3 issue voter so I never had an issue with Webb, I would much rather have him than any of the democratic or even some republican alternatives. I disagree with Allen's positions on Federal restrictions on gun ownership as well as the "gun show loophole" etc. I feel this is a s...

Re: SHTF - caliber and platform discussion

One of the reasons I posted this initially was to see what people are counting on when the SHTF - errr, if the SHTF. It's interesting to see the wide range of what people count as key components. I'm debating between picking up a higher caliber rifle (.308, perhaps) to complement my .223/5.56, or a...

Re: Are there any 1,000 yard or longer ranges from Roanoke west?

The only 1k range in VA that I am aware of is Quantico. The next nearest are in central PA (north of Harrisburg) and in NC. The nearest ~1 mile range is in Ohio last I checked. 300 yards isn't that hard to find, but 500+ is very rare in VA. Of course private land is possible too. What are you plann...

Re: 5 gal water jugs

I'm from out west and you can go to several different locations to fill 5 gallon jugs for drinking water. Everything from specialty stores to "atm" style fillers to Wal-Mart or your grocier of choice. Is there any place around Arlington or Alexandria that is like that? This is what I'm ta...

Re: How Islam will defeat the USA

The problem that I have with your statements is that you go from making an incredibly bold statement that Islam is creating an army domestically to stage some sort of violent revolution and implement religious rule which is not even popular within the middle east itself. Furthermore you did not spe...

Re: How Islam will defeat the USA

No one is suggesting that you are a terrorist based on your religion. I think it's just been simply stated that the goal of Islam, in general, is to consume the world with the "There is no God but Allah" mantra. Islam doesn't co-exist well with other religions because of this view. The me...
