Handgun transportation to PA?

So I have my 1st handgun now, and I am visiting PA over the holidays, my grandparents have ample land on which I would like to do some target shooting with my brother. First of all is the shooting on private property legal in PA? Second, is the transportation legal? I don't travel on main highways a...

Re: Thinking about selling

Admiral: I am looking for a fair priced G26. I am a college student, so while I have seen many G27's selling for 400 that are very similar to yours (ie round count and what is included) I have been avoiding them because I want to get a 9mm so I can enjoy shooting at the range more comfortably. Pleas...

Anyone who argues this point is a fool. It's common knowledge, or at least should be. Buce is pretty much the greatest martial artist to ever live.

Re: WTB 1st Handgun

Yea but I/we were mainly talking about 9mm or .40. The ruger lcp would only hold maybe 4 or 5 9mm bullets. It holds 6+1 .380, but that is a smaller bullet obviously. The next smallest gun that is single stack like the ruger lcp is (correct me if im wrong on that) and holds 9mm is about 4.1' tall and...

Re: WTB 1st Handgun

Compact=small and compact Sub-Compact=below that, even smaller and more compact PF9 is classified as a Sub-compact gun Pocket pistols are generally much smaller, usually topping out at like 4 or 5 shots. The pocket pistols are really small guns, don't even know any models to name, but yea you get th...

Haha, yea I got the idea that he misunderstood you a bit as well. I understand what both of you were getting at though. I definitely understand and that is my intention, I was raised to do things the right way. For example, I like to go to the gym, and I may not be a big guy, however I lift properly...

Re: WTB 1st Handgun

When you said you wanted a Kel-tec PF9 I took that to mean you wanted a pocket pistol. Since Ruger only makes one pocket automatic and one pocket revolver you are limited in your choice of caliber, yes. But the superior construction quality of the Ruger makes it better choice for something your lif...

Re: WTB 1st Handgun

Your "first handgun" will depend on several factors...including whether or not you care about how "tacticool" you are. I don't give a rat's bottom about "tacticoolness", but I do care a lot about the ability to shoot well. For semi-autos, also consider a Ruger SR9. It'...

Re: WTB 1st Handgun

Your very first handgun should be a tapered Mark III. If not then I still recommend against any Kel-tec as your primary carry weapon, especially if its the only gun you plan to own for a while. If you need pocket sized get a Ruger LCP. If you want something just a bit fatter I suggest the Glock 26 ...

Re: VA Laws...Can I really own a handgun under the age of 21?

I owned as many as 5 handguns when I was under 21 and open carried everywhere I went that was not a prohibited place (very few in Va). The private sales (buys) I engaged in went very smoothly; don't present yourself as a thug. Glock is a reasonable choice for around $400. Khar and KelTec are others...

Re: VA Laws...Can I really own a handgun under the age of 21?

Yep got that. I won't mind having something with polymer or aluminum because I will be possibly using it as a carry weapon as well. Steel might weigh me down too much lol.

Re: VA Laws...Can I really own a handgun under the age of 21?

Really, any of the weapons that you mentioned are good choices. My opinion on the best of both worlds (accuracy & reliability) is the Glock. If you are stuck on the 9mm, the G19 is an excellent choice. Glocks are known for their reliability, and accuracy isn't bad either. For a little more, I w...

Re: WTB 1st Handgun

Bill: I won't be dealing with taxes, I am exclusively looking to buy something used. Thanks for the heads up about ammo as well, that's one reason I have been leaning more towards a 9mm over a .40 so I can buy more ammo. I recommend you buy a 9mm Glock or 9mm Smith and Wesson M&P -- try both and...
