Re: VCDL New website

The member and blog/discussion features in the new site are definitely promising. Especially with the lack of in-person meetings for the past year.

NOVA IWLA experience

I am taking a look at the Alexandria(Stafford) and Arlington(Chantilly) IWLAs. Both have some pros/cons given what and how I like to shoot and I'm not terribly thrilled by Arlington's fixed 25 yard pistol range, but whichever way I go I'll be happy to have an outdoor rifle range option that isn't a ...

Re: 1/20/20 Lobby Day

I'm not a prolific poster here, or anywhere, but I'm in for Lobby Day. Hopefully other lurkers here will show up, too. I am bringing one other person - who moved to VA specifically because he thought it was a more free state gun-wise. Working on convincing two other guys to come with us. Pretty much...

Re: Why The Midterm votes are important

Yes, I know that. But a Republican who claims he supports the 2nd Amendment, but supports that treaty along with gun owner registration... and supports firearms confiscation without due process in response to a mental health claim lobbied against somebody? The last few Republican candidates in my di...

Re: Why The Midterm votes are important

I agree, but here's my conundrum: I live in the People's Republic of Northern Virginia and the Republican running for congress in my district supports the UN Small Arms Treaty. He also attempts to take both sides of other issues important to me and whines about the "alt-right" boogeyman. I...

Re: Buckmark magazine weirdness

Thank you for the suggestions. Disassembly and thorough cleaning is on deck for this weekend. No problems with chambering, but it could very well be related to some really filthy cheapo rounds I fed through her recently. If I figure it out, I'll post a recap here.

Thanks again for the tips.

Buckmark magazine weirdness

I'm at wit's end here. I have a Browning Buckmark that's ~ 6 years old and recently I've started to have trouble with some of my magazines ejecting when I fire my last round. I thought that it may be magazine-related so I purchased a new one from the factory and am having the same issue with it. I m...

This is exciting news.

What ever happened to the proposed outdoor range down near Possum Point a few years ago?

Re: What created the Tea Party Movement?

Decades of communist advances in the US, capped by Obama's policies created the movement. I'd argue that it's not a movement per se; it can best be explained or described as a counter-revolutionary imperative.

Rick Santelli's rant on CNBC didn't hurt either  but was more of a crystallization.

VCDL 2011 VA Legislation Tracking Site

A number of good and bad bills to monitor in Richmond. Kudos to the VCDL for providing the site and e-mail and lobbying resources.

My personal favorite is HB 2069, recognizing Constitutional carry.

Re: Two Democrats Stuck On An Escalator

I kid you not, this situation actually occurred at the Huntington Metro station on a summer afternoon in 2008. Afternoon rush hour, a big crowd heading up the escalator... the normal maddening pattern: folks standing on the right-hand side and people walking up the left-hand side... then some woman ...

Seems like a reasonable encounter.

But am I mistaken, or in the course of inspecting the firearm didn't the officer effectively muzzle a dozen or so passing cars?

That holster bears the marks of an object designed by committee. Behold and welcome our new brave new reality of living in the People's Republic of America. Lucky us. In the form of socialism we're seeing foisted upon us here, we get the worst features of communist and socialist societies combined w...

How could this happen? The school was clearly marked as a "Gun Free Zone." Let's see... I'm losing track of the leftists who have gone on violent, politically-motivated rampages over the past couple of years. There's this school board shooter douche who was a 9/11 truther and devotee of In...
