Re: Best holster for GLOCK 22

I have one of those Blackhawk holsters, but I hated it. It stuck way to far out and made it difficult to CC. Open carry was ok. It also felt like the gun was wobbly (since it was so far from the body). Have you seen this: http://www.usgalco.com/HolsterPG3.asp?ProductID=471&GunID=48 There are lo...

Re: Rock Island Armory

Thanks for all the answers. I have been educated by you guys and ladies, if any. Between the advice I got here and the extra research it inspired I'll most likely get a starter and then another later as many of you have. Looking through the responders...who is the lady(ies)? Not it! :hysterical: I ...

Re: Auto MAgazine loader

Thanks guys. Also I understand the concept of having it in the firld, so you are a good LE instructor. I'd have said the same thing in the army, but now I am a lazy civilian....

Not to say civilians are lazy....but at my age, I figure I have sort of earned it

Auto MAgazine loader

Anyone ever heard of the Lulu auto mag loader for pistols? Supposed to prevent the sore thumbs and such. Is it worth the money?
Thanks

Rock Island Armory

Went to Herndon Sat. The new gun shop is great and the guys were patient and took time to answer questions. Since my next gun will be a 1911, the guy showed me the Rock Island Armory .45. I was way impressed with the price (right at 500.00 if that). I also really liked the way it felt in my hand. An...

Don't know where you are but you should try NoVA Armament in Herndon and Towne Police Supply in Richmond.
Did try this place in Richmond. Will gladly go down from Fairfax, and pick it up. The guy ordered one but had no idea when it would arrive.

Re: Glock Sport Shooting Foundation (GSSF)

Been on the phone most of the day trying to locate a Glock model22. Apparently, the boxes are labeled red, or white or blue. The LE ones are blue and they are in big demand due to the promo. Some dealers say they are back ordered up to 3 months. One guy did say though that the full size ones sell sl...

Glock Sport Shooting Foundation (GSSF)

Is anyone here aware of participating dealers in this program? It cost 35.00 to join and by doing so you save on your gun purchase. For example the model 22 retails for about 600. By joining GSSF you get it for $425.00. Counting the initial 35.00 that is still a $140.00 savings. Not all dealers part...

CWP from Fairfax County

Got my CWP today. It took 35 days exactly. I was prepared for a much longer wait. So now I am legal (for concealment). I plan to take cross country bike trips and figure it may be needed but, hopefully not.

Re: NRA range, Fairfax Virginia

The funny thing about the NRA is you are forbidden from carrying a loaded gun in the general HQ building...what's up with that...dont they know that rules like that are only obeyed by law-abiding citizens...I guess thats why they call us law-abiding and criminals criminal...go figure... I was wonde...

I recently bought a SASS, where are there SASS's matches out of curiosity? Not sure where matches are but every first Tuesday at 7PM the Fairfax group practices. They are a great bunch of guys and willing to answer questions. I plan to go again next Tue and watch again. Do you have any more info on...

I really want to shoot in SASS matches. However it looks to be about two grand to even get started. I can save the money but does anyone know where to find the shotguns? For that matter anyone know how to get started for less than a mint???

I look fwd to shooting in IPDA too. Hopefully will be able to do so in June. I figure if I get some experience first then I will do better when I try to qualify. The closest place to me is BRA but the second Wed is a schedule conflict so I'll try at different places. Nothing seems easy or simple for...

Re: VA-ALERT: YES!!!! Gun in UNLOCKED compartment passes!!!

The main purpose of this bill was to remove the necessity for the driver to possess a concealed handgun permit just to have a loaded handgun in the vehicle. Governor McDonnell sent the original bill back to have the wording changed so that the handgun only needs to be "secured" instead of...
