Re: .45 for C/C?
It's hard to beat the stopping power of the 45. I sometimes carry my H&K USP 45 compact. Its been a long time since I carried my Combat Commander but i would again without a second thought. I personally shoot better with the Commander but it does have a bit more weight and I prefer to go light. ...

Re: Recommendations for first Handgun?
A revolver is a great starting point, it will keep things simple. Also if your wife is going to carry in a purse, a concealed hammer revolver will function while still in the purse if she were to need it in a hurry. Like the others have said, go to a show or shop or maybe someone you know and find w...

Re: Superior Pawn & Gun Inc
The guys at Superior are good. The only issue with Superior is size but they do have mulitible locations. You may find you have to wait or return. The same is to be said about Bob's. Try Shooters in Norfolk, Gerry's a good guy also and they are never crowded. The Lynnhaven Shooting Range is big but ...

Re: One in the chamber?
To carry with an empty chamber is called "Isreali Style" and can be used fairly well if practiced. In my oppinion, when seconds count keep it simple. No matter how anyone chooses to carry they must practice exactly how they intend to carry. Muscle memory will prevail in high pressure situat...

Re: DF&SS--Hampton Roads Hidden Secret
I would suggest calling and letting them know your coming. They are not in a location you can see from the road so you'll need directions from them anyway.

No range at this time. There are a couple of local ranges that are not too far away, some better than others. You can also join one of the local clubs.

DF&SS--Hampton Roads Hidden Secret
Discretionary Firearms & Security Services in Chesapeake is an outstanding shop. Kevin and his wife are professional and friendly. I felt welcome like an old friend. Some shops are pushy and or arrogant but you dont get treated like that at DF&SS. I like supporting local businesses and this ...

Usually "Gladis" goes in a Galco Fletch holding 180gr TAP,Extra mag on any good belt and a Spyderco Delica. Sometimes "Hariet" goes holding 230gr Golden Sabre, Extra mag and a Spyderco Delica. Those are my main squeezes the others I only fool around with on occasion.

Re: The Worst Gun You Ever Owned Thread
I agree with wildbill44. My dad passed me down a short Super Blackhawk in 44mag. It doesnt make it out to the range much but it is fun seeing the look on peoples faces when that thing goes off, especially at a indoor range. Its a beast to hold on to also.

Re: Firearm purchase application "delayed"
I also get delayed like mr. paliden. Seems some a-hole illegal immigrant here in VA has my name and birthday. My wife is LEO and we found out what this guy is wanted for and its pretty bad. But just remember the State Police are doing their job and id rather them do a thorough check in place of rush...

Re: The Better Price
Dark Sun and Trader Jerrys are good dealers. Dark Sun seems to have a better selection of tactical type firearms while Jerrys has a butt load of everything. Also Dark Sun has sweet deals on LEO trade in glocks, they show wear but you can hurt those things. I havent met any dealer not willing to at l...

Re: AR15 Type Build
I built one a couple of months ago form various suppliers. You can save money but it depends what your budget and goal is. You can buy a kit from model1sales for $485 +s&h and get a lower at a show for $120, so for a little over $600 you can put together a basic AR. I spent about $900 on mine bu...
