Re: D.C. grabs guns from soldier

So the police said that since Lt. Kim stopped at Walter Reed, he committed a crime. Wasn't Walter Reed Army Hospital a federal facility located inside federal property? What jurisdiction did DC (at that time) have over said property? Also wondering what prompted the police to conduct a search of Lt....

Could you share with the rest of us your OC experience in your part of the state. How often do OC? Where do you OC? What kind of reaction do you get from the locals? Did you have to deal with the LEs? Share interesting experience with us folks.

Re: Very Bad Experiance Virginia Center Commons Mall Glenn Allen

Lessons learned: 1. Avoid this mall if you are especially if you are OC'ing 2. If you are carrying concealed, make sure your piece is concealed, or 3. Avoid this mall at all cost (no pun); take your business elsewhere and that goes for the rest of us. Security guards do not have, nor are they given ...

Re: Considering Colt Mk IV in .38 Super - talk me into/out of it

My first handgun was a 1911 Colt .38 Super given to me by my father. Lighter than a 1911 Colt .45, kicks just a bit more than a 9mm (nothing you can't handle), and accurate. While it may not be your ideal CC firearm due to its size, it is definitely fun to shoot at the range. I had to dispose of it ...

Re: Private Sales between VA residents

What are the rules on private sales between VA residents? I have read info on the VA State Police page and other forums, but still a little confused. I would like to sell several of my pistols (4) to a coworker, plus a Match Garand. We are both VA residents, and I moved here recently from Arizona, ...

Re: Getting my CHP

I don't think fringerprint is a requirement when applying for a CHP in VA. Some localities may require it for initial application so check your court clerk; it is not required when renewing your CHP.

The Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution

I thought this only happens in third world countries ruled by dictators.
This court ruling happened in the heartland of America.

No probable cause, no court order needed.

Re: Summary of Gun Laws for NoVa...Draft

The Commonwealth of Viginia gun laws pre-empt local laws. No such thing as "Gun Laws for NoVa." So the title of your post could be misleading (IMHO). Best source of state gun laws is the Virgini Code; for summary of gun laws, refer to the VCDL card listing places where carrying is prohibit...

Re: penalty for carrying?

Getting terminated from your company for cause disqualifies you from obtaining unemployment benefits. And if your actions result with you ending up with felonious record, say good-bye to your CHP.

So my unsolicited advice to you, friend, is: don't even think about it.

Re: TV Interview--Women Using Guns For Protection

You will have to be very, very convincing and almost to the point of guaranteeing that your report will be honest and objective. It is a widely-received belief (and with good reason) among gunowners and 2A supporters that mainstream media has an anti-gun agenda, that it is not objective when it come...

NOVA Firearms Gun Shop

Anybody been to NOVA Firearms Gun Shop in Falls Church? I saw their flyer at the gun show in Chantilly. This should be welcome news to us here in NoVa eversince Dawson's moved to Woodbridge and the Loading Bench closed down several years ago. They were both located in Annandale at one point. They're...
