WTB - Bersa Thunder 380 / Canik Shark C or Tristar T-100
I've been looking for Bersa Thunder 380s in the Plus variant for about a month now. I'm also looking for either a Canik Shark C or a Tristar T-100 (same gun, different importer), in 9mm. I can find NO guns in stock anywhere online, from big stores to small. Apparently, Argentina is suffering a prett...

Re: Received my VA CCW
That's interesting the differences in locales. I am in Central Virginia and I was told I would get a card in the mail to come pick up my permit. Its been less than a week now for me. You got yours in the mail. Not a big deal either way but interesting. Congrats on your permit!!! Yeah...it's been 10...

Re: Virginia to end CCW reciprocity with 24 states
I'm just finishing up taking a Utah carry license class. Should have my permit within 60 days. I shouldn't have had to do it, but I do visit some some of the states that VA is rejecting in reciprocacy.

Re: Picked up My Rock Island 1911 Today
Earlier this week I ordered a Rock Island FS 1911 A1 Tactical II in 22TCM / 9mm. One was on order , but not in stock. Picked it up this morning and will give it a through workout tomorrow. This one has the lower rail , ambidextrous safety , G10 grips and 10 rd. Mag. You'll love it. Got mine not lon...

That might have been the time to seek out a RSO, IMO.

Re: Bought a Rock Island M1911A1 MS 2011 22TCM
Hey Unix, FYI, I have one of your used TCM casings. I picked it up because it was the first one I have seen. You must have already left. Did you buy the model that comes with both the TCM and 9mm barrels? Yes, this one came with those two barrels...makes it less than a range gun when they come like...

Bought a Rock Island M1911A1 MS 2011 22TCM
http://www.wigglit.com/images/weapons/RIA/1911_MS_2011/1911%2022tcm%20fireball%202.png So I bought another Rock Island 1911, specifically a railed MS 2011 that came with both 22TCM and 9mm barrels. I got the singe-stack version. I went to Elite Shooting tonight, to test it out. This gun was throwin...

Re: Received my VA CCW
Glad to hear you received your permit. Pretty simple here in Virginia. Where are you in Va? What kind of holster do you think you want? I suspect you will end up with at least 2 - IWB and OWB. Most are not used for both but there are a few that can be. Here is a monstrous list of links to most mfgs...

Received my VA CCW
I submitted my application for CCW on the 20th. I got the permit in the mail today. That's 8 days from start to finish. I was assuming it would take maybe 3 weeks. That's crazy fast, but my background is very clear (most of my work history is with the federal government). I now want to enroll in a c...

Re: SR9/C magazine
Quick update:
Wife wants to handle it on her own. It's her gun and she's a grown-up. I'll update the post if she changes her mind, but if problem isn't remedied by the time we start the drive to CA, it's going to mysteriously "disappear" (as in get thrown in the trash).

SR9/C magazine
Let me know if this is posted in the wrong area. My wife bought a Ruger SR9C yesterday. It comes with two mags: a 10 round mag and a 17 round mag. We're moving to CA this summer and the 17 round mag is not compliant (please, don't give me grief over moving to CA). There are also no mag blocks for th...

Re: My First 1911
I went to Triune in Warrenton to pick up a few guns yesterday and saw they had a Ruger SR1911 CDR...wasn't a bad price, either. It was NICE! I wish I'd seen it before now, though...I've been on a gun mission (9 guns in 3 months) the last few months and if I come home with the Ruger, that will push t...

My First 1911
I'll be moving to CA this summer, so I've been loading up on handguns. Once I move there, my retail options for purchasing 1911s will be severely limited, so I decided to get several now. There was a time where 1911s were of no interest to me. I began to waver when a salesman passed me a 1911 when I...

Re: Outdoor ranges in Northern VA -- where are they?
This seems to be the recurring reason for not allowing JHP indoors when I do a search on it: I have talked with the rangemaster at OC indoor range about this (they recently switched to rubber backstop so this is no longer an issue) and he said that they ban JHPs because when they bounce back at you ...

I did not know this. Thanks for the information!trailrunner wrote:Why do you need an outdoor range to shoot JHPs? I shoot at Sharpshooters, which is an indoor range in NoVA, and they allow JHPs.

Re: Outdoor ranges in Northern VA -- where are they?
I'm in the Manassas area and have several gun ranges near me. The closest is Elite. What I need is an outdoor range, so I can run a box of JHPs through each of my new guns. I'm curious. Why not use Elite for this? I thought most indoor ranges generally didn't allow JHP. Am I flat out wrong, or is E...
