lUltradot Non warranty

I have several Ultradot sights that I have used for years shooting Bullseye Comps. They have been wonderful and very sturdy. Two of them have now failed and I discover that the warranty is no longer life time. The warranty was we will fix or replace if you have the original receipt. Now they tell me...

Re: Tire Chains?

I have a set of chains for my Ranger 4X4 which has full wheel lock in low range. The only time I have used them was pulling another vehicle out of the ditch. I run regular Michelin radials and can go about wherever I want. Not saying I can't get stuck, but if I do, it will take a really good vehicle...

Re: The myth of wartime 1911 inaccuracy

I was not comparing modern 1911s with WWII arms. I was commenting on the use of the word accuracy. I see it used all the time in the ads for modern weapons. The word, in its modern context, means virtually nothing. It is like "awesome". You definition and mine may differ considerably. I wo...

Re: The myth of wartime 1911 inaccuracy

There is also the problem of the term "accurate". I don't feel a group of 6-7" at 20 yes qualifies as "accurate". I have several custom 1911s that shoot 1.5" at 50yds. I have two out of the box Glocks that will stay inside 3" at 25 yes. Is the gun shooting well eno...

Re: personal property tax

I am amazed we have not heard from the tree huggers about this personal property tax. It is regressive in that the older, read less efficient and dirtier, cars pay less tax. This is why we have junk on the road in VA. Inspection, B.S.. Anyone who is here awhile learns which shop to go to that collec...

Re: You are so lucky to be living in Virginia

You might not know that Gov. Scott recently signed a law allowing private ranges to exist as long as the bullets do not leave the property regardless of local ordinance. There is a fellow in West Palm that has been on the FL forum talking about his range in an expensive subdivision including picture...

Re: You are so lucky to be living in Virginia

There are good things about FL as well. Government in the sunshine, radar detectors, no income tax, no personal property tax, home owner exemption, etc. I am going to miss the VA woods. We are moving back after ten years in VA.

Re: Coming to a Comcast router near you!

The whole point is they will not BE on your network. This is not war driving. The user must log on to the Comcast system with user name and password. Every router will have to have the public network access or you would have to resign on to each individual router if it were not a public network. You...

Re: Coming to a Comcast router near you!

The way I read this they are setting up a secondary network using the user's hard connection. If done properly, separate IP address, it should not bother the user's bandwidth or increase security issues. I agree you should have your wireless locked up tight and you may want use some extra security o...

Re: Reloading Boxer-primed steel cases in .45 ACP

I tried to reload steel for a little while. Case life stinks since steel is no where near as ductile as brass, hard on dies, even with lube and neck tension is nowhere as near consistent. I trashed a set of dies and quit.

Re: FBI going to 9mm pistols?

They could put the ammo on the retail market and pay on the debt. We would all buy a box of Obama ammo just to put on the shelf. Second thought, it would never happen. They will dump it in the ocean before.

Bert..Since when do you need an ffl to sell commercial ammo. If you are selling reloads..yes. You might be thinking of a business license and a tax permit?

Re: How bad is satellite internet?

Hughes Gen 4 is much improved from the old versions. Speeds will not compare with cable usually about 12. Cost is higher and you do have a data cap. I have made it with the 10 gig per month most of the time. Unlike the others, I am using it and I have been a computer tech for 25 years. If I could ge...

We all pay for speed. I buy a faster processor than you, you buy a faster rifle than me, and we both get run over by the banker who buys the Lamborghini. Why should the internet work any differently. Let the government in and they will screw it up.

Re: Garand or AR?

The Garand. I think you will be able to buy an AR for a long time. There are only so many Garands.
30-06 original or .308 conversion? 30-06 FMJ will probably get even harder to get.
