That would now be an extremely logical conclusion.

Who the hell but an anti gunner chooses a name based on a gun that is so uncommon in personal use (and pretty damned lame as it can't be aimed worth a damn) but very well known by mouthbreathers via TV and movies.
Officially outed waissists: Taggure, Allingeneral, Tweaker, VBShooter, Snaz, Jim, OakRidgeStars, Wylde, clayinva, Komrade Kreutz, scrubber3, Mindflaya'. All the kewl kids are waississ

Dan was kind enough to discuss with me via email before posting this to his blog.

It's actually a pretty humorous blog post. Color me impressed.

Two thumbs up this morning for Dan Casey

In the comments he implied that the because the M16 and AR 15 fire the same round it's an assault rifle. :hysterical:
I asked if a "hunting rifle" fire the same round as an M16 is it an assault rifle?

Wow... just wow. So wow hope an M14 isnt considered an assault rifle , that would make all those Model 700s assault rifles too! :bangin:

We do to have a sense of humor. I found that blog post to be rather humorous, actually. I also found humor in the retorts.

I note, too, the challenge that was posted by Dan Casey. He want's his blog to hit 100,000 posts before VGOF. At the time of me typing this post, we have 5954 posts to go. I saw nothing that stated how many postings that Casey has.

Alright, alright, lemme change that to, "sarcasm generally goes over right-wingers heads", OK?

Brian you like guns, in Dan's mind I think he'd call you a right winger.

Heh... considering that the bulk of my family are both firmly planted on the right side of the line (though, how far to the right varies per member), and we are all quite sarcastic, as is Ann Coulter and the bulk of her following, I'd have to question even that statement.

However, we are still, collectively speaking, ignoring the challenge set forth by the esteemed Mr. Casey. I'm more interested in that than the personality traits of the average correct-winger, lol.

I'm OK with Dan having a difference of opinion. I'm even OK with him mocking us a bit. And I know that he doesn't understand our interest in firearms. To us it's science, art, history, gadgetry, math, craftsmanship, ingenuity, engineering, hobby, sustenance, Tim-the-tool man, constitutional rights, states' rights, God-giv'n rights, and American tradition.
So here's my gripe. After reading his blog entry, I'm convinced that he believes that owning a gun, specifically that AR, would make you kill someone (or at least contemplate it), for minor slights or squabbles. That's CRAZY! Would HE do that? Maybe he shouldn't own a gun if that's what he thinks will happen. He needs to know that owning a gun doesn't make a person crazy.
But Dan, don't assume that all of us are unable to keep it together for infractions of manners or feelings or respect. I had a hard time with a lot of the article, but these are among my offenders:
The bullet it fires is a .223-caliber, and it can kill with a precision that’ll leave all your gun-happy friends dripping with envy.
If you have good enough aim it’ll also shoot fish in a barrel. And who knows? — perhaps even people like muggers, home invaders or your spouse if he or she acts up too much.
Just in case you’re heading off on a soldier-of-fortune foray to Africa or Central America or some other godforsaken place...
If we had such language here at VGOF, someone who spoke about doing such things as shooting his wife if she acted up, if even in jest, we'd probably run the guy off. That poop's not funny.

Maybe someone needs to take Dan to the range. I'm going to bow out of my own challenge, as I'm nowhere close to Roanoke (but I would come out, if that's what got Dan to the range). He seems like an objective/reasonable guy (kinda). I'm not suggesting that you could turn him into a 2nd amendment poster child, but he may be open to the fact that some folks shoot for sport... just for the fun and challenge of it.

Where did I say it was not funny? Or that I thought the post was stupid? Or anything else for that matter? All I said was, Anti-rights blogger posted about the VGOF. Which he did. I have thought Dan was anti-rights for quite some time now, that post had nothing to do with it :hysterical:

Oh puh-leeze, Über-awesome socialist Switzerland has one of the highest gun ownership rates on earth and you are legally required to be proficient with and keep your gun at home.

Gun-ownership fits nicely into left-wing beliefs especially regarding personal liberty and civil duty.

But, I digress, this is about Dan Casey, my soon to be AR-15 and my soon to be Supersoaker.
