Well, turned out my new $1000+ Colt Delta Elite needed a new barrel. My gunsmith at Hatfield's in Manassas spotted the problem. Thanks Sam. So, back went the gun to Colt. Two and a half months later I got it back yesterday. 2 1/2 months, for a barrel? They said the original wasn't reamed properly. Hello, quality control? Anyone home?? Last time I called they said they had no 10mm barrels. Huh? Then, three days later a 10mm barrel magically appeared and my gun was ready. At least they gave me a nice Uncle Mikes pistol case for my troubles.
Now, to the range...

Re: Colt service and repair
Glad to hear you got your gun back. Quality control has been going down for years. It is one way that companies are keeping the cost of the guns down despite the governments inflation.

Congratulations on getting your Colt back. I have just one question about Colt, did you have to pay the shipping?
You just have to ask yourself, is he telling you the truth based on knowledge and experience or spreading internet myths?
