BATF to reclassify SS109/M855 5.56 NATO ammunition

Post by 2k05gt »

Goodbye Green Tip ammo

Not that I am a big fan of Green tip 5.56 but this looks like further attempts at restricting or limiting our gun rights.

I point to an area of the article that talks about the AR Pistol.
The “logic” behind the ATF reclassification attempt it is that recent prevalence of AR-15 pistols means that the SS109/M855 cartridge is now an armor-piercing pistol bullet
When I first heard that the ATF will allow the AR pistol I suspected that this was an attempt to put controls on the availability of 5.56 / .223 ammo. since going after the rifle has proved
difficult in the elected body, the Administration would use the agencies to do their bidding. They tried to use the EPA to ban lead through the “Get The Lead Out” campaign but luckily that proved to be more difficult to do thanks to a federal court ruling Federal appeals court rules EPA has no legal authority to ban lead ammunition.

But that's not stopping this administration, there is a new call for the EPA and ATF, called The Pincer Movement on Ammunition new attempts by the EPA and ATF by re-classifying ammo they can control or ban it.

further in the article is says "ATF’s Proposed Ammo Ban Perverts Federal Gun Laws. Here’s How Congress Must Fix It."

I am urging my elected officials to take this course to protect our 2nd amendment rights. we all should do the same.

Be sure to write your representative in support of the Sportsmen’s Act of 2015.
