Eric Cantor is anti-gun? Try to contain your shock and amazement.

>> When asked, Cantor stopped short of saying he supported universal background checks, saying only that “I am for making sure that we increase the quality of information in the database that is in existence already.”

I'm not necessarily taking this as being anti-gun. Background checks use the database information - it doesn't change the information state for prohibition. Text earlier in the article suggests that he might be more interested in using the Virginia model for data sharing as the norm.

Regardless... I still send out the love notes telling my elected officials to oppose gun restrictions and support increased freedom.
And if Bruce Dickinson wants more cowbell, we should probably give him more cowbell!

I don't see those statements as being anti-gun, but we all know he likes to hold meetings in gun-free zones.

If there is information that should be in the database that isn't, we need to get that information into the database. That doesn't violate anyone's rights. It doesn't create any additional legislation. It simply makes our existing laws work better.

I do like the gun trafficking as a federal crime. How is that already not so?

I would have to say I don’t myself see anti-gun legislation, per se. I do see where they want to button up our already beleaguered system...

Did I miss something?

On Capitol Hill, Rep. Elijah E. Cummings (D-Md.) said Cantor’s comments “clearly opened the door for the House to move on meaningful legislation” to address gun violence. These are the things that should scare the hell out of all of us.. Cantor is an opportunist IMHO and cannot be trusted.ANY compromise with whoever is a giant step backward for gun owners.

After Chris Rock explained the way of the world, how could any member of any party not get on board with gun control?
