That is opening day of bow season!!!!

Post by gunlawyer »

Bummer of a day choice. Opening day of bow season! Unless I can arrow something right off the bat that morning, I won't be able to make it. Let's make it the next day, on Sunday instead! I will bring all my subguns and if you guys bring the ammo (.380, 9mm., .45) you can shoot them all you want!

Bummer too, I live 15 minutes away from Sharpshooters and am a member and have about 10 extra passes for folks to use if needed!)

Anyway,

Hey, I'm open to either day, Saturday or Sunday.

Anybody know if a Kel Tec Sub 2000 is OK to bring, I mean guess technically its a folding carbine, but maybe they would not allow it?

Well heck. It's named after you and everything!

Feel free to get your own thing going. When you have free time and want to go shooting, just post up here to see if anyone will join you.
Thanks for naming this one after me. Maybe I'll name one after you;).

My free time is Sunday's (when the extended family isn't coming down), and one week day (which varies). Other than that, I have Saturday evenings and some week nights (I have four kids, one in school. I try to spend nights with them too.).

I'll see if me and my oldest can't check out a range soon and then post a shoot and greet. Either that or I'll try to get people involved with a Sunday lunch somewhere. Either way, this has been a better response than I had before.

Thanks again for the help. I look forward to meeting people soon.

Soooooo, is this still a go or no? Maybe this could end up being an annual (or quarterly) event and he can join us next time (on a Sunday)? ;)

VGOF Annual Fired Up Event

Or VGOF Fired Up in Lorton, etc

VGOF Fired Up at SharpShooters...

Has potential.

Still a go as far as I can tell. I'm planning to be there and I guess we have 5 or 6 others at least who have said they will be there.

Yep, just called and confirmed 9mm -its OK so I'll be bringing the Sub2k along with the CZ75 Compact. For 38 special, the Model 10 and the GP100. The SW 1911 TRS is chambered for .45ACP and the SW Bodyguard 380 is of course .380 auto.

See y'all Saturday! :pistol:

Daughter's 15th birthday party that day. Sorry. I'd have brought my Win 94 in .45 Colt, too.

If I could only bring that Strerling Arsenal AR Prize with me I'd be a happy camper.

Arsenal Gun Trusts at the Shoot and Greet

Post by ArsenalAttorneys »

I'll be there to celebrate VGOF's success and to make new friends. For those interested in NFA gun trusts, this will be a great opportunity to address your questions. To honor VGOF, anyone at the October 1 event will be eligible for a discount on their own NFA gun trust. See you there, and congrats VGOF!

Is it really handguns only ?? We are planning on coming with a couple of our SAR-XV models, incluing some class III goodness (LEO machine guns and suppressors).

It isn't handguns only. It is handgun calibers only. Plenty of folks shoot pistol caliber subguns and pistol caliber rifles, SBRs etc. there. No 5.7 allowed either unfortunately.

Bottom line bring whatever you want but pistol caliber only. ALSO, make sure your ammo projectiles do not attract magnets. They frown on that. I bring a bullet puller with me when I shoot there to prove, if needed, that my ammo is kosher. Needed it twice actually so far!

Why is the bullet puller necessary - steel cases?

Twice I have had to prove to the staffer running the range that the steel cased ammo I was shooting in my SMGs was NOT using steel jacketed bullets. The magnet was attracted to the steel case and so they were objecting.

That is until I disassembled a cartridge with the puller on the spot and proved that the case and NOT the projectile incorporated steel. They were fine once I demonstrated that to them.

Thought that might be the case, thanks for the explanation.

Planning on being there with the toys.

Seeing as this place is pistol calibers only, I'll have to leave the big toys at home.

But for those of you that remember Bills S&G I'd recommend you bring 9mm if you want to try some of the stuff out ... 115, or 124 run best.
