Hi, I'm new to this.

I bought a new Tauraus 24-7 .40 cal. then bought a new Fobus holster from Rick.
Since Ohio allows OPEN CARRY of firearms, I carry it every day. So far, knock on wood, I haven't had any hassles from Toledo Police. I do however get a LOT of questions from people wherever I go. It seems as though the general public is uninformed about open carry in Ohio. Toledo has laid off 75 police officers because of a budget short fall of over 20 million dollars, and may lay off more because the city is falling farther behind at a rate of =$100,000.00 a day. Crime is on the rise because our TV stations reach into Detriot and criminals are invading the city from all over. Muggings, crimes against people, home invasions, robberies, car jackings, and burglaries are all going up. The one thing that is a "fly in the ointment" is the fact that Ohio dos NOT allow open carry of a firearm while inside a motor vehicle.
It's difficult to get people interested in changing that law; most still fear guns being carried in vehicles.

To the forum man. VA has the same ole' thing goin on with the OC in vehicles. It realy makes no sense...
Mod note: Open Carry (OC) is legal in Virginia inside a vehicle as long as your firearm is in plain view at all times from any point of approach.

I believe you are wrong. Open carry IN as well as out of the car is legal. It is also legal to drive with the gun either on the dash or the seat of your vehicle.

Hi, welcome to the forum.
NickFac, I have to agree with herohog. It is legal to carry a loaded firearm in your vehicle in VA, OC without a permit CC with a permit.

Welcome Ron - it's good to have you onboard.
Sorry to hear of the problems in your city. Hopefully there will be a push to get your laws straightened out so that you can protect yourself from the influx of crime. Keep putting your story out there and eventually someone will pick it up and run with it (we can hope!)

Flint Michigan wants to bulldoze parts of the city and put some roads back to gravel. Soon all of those liberals living in Michigan and Ohio are going to move to Virginia.
