Total time from submission of SP-248 to issuance of CHP: 22 calendar days.

Greene County Circuit Court. Very efficient and pleasant public service. I made sure to tell them how I appreciated their work. Can't hurt to reinforce the 'good', right?

Going forward, I'm considering a Sig P239/.357, IWB @ the 4 o'clock position. I love my P229R and shoot both .40 and .357 out of it well with a slight edge to the latter, but it feels a bit wide for IWB. I've seen great reviews and much loyalty for the Milt Sparks VM2, but the wait of close to 6 months is painful. So... I'd appreciate anyone's input on similar quality alternatives. Personal experiences will be greatly appreciated!

A MIlt Sparks is a great holster, but the $$ and wait are too much for me.

I carry IWB in a Rocketman Holsterworks kydex holster and I love it.

The most comfortable Holsters that I have tried are the Supertuck.

I use a Comp-Tac paddle holster. Am very pleased with it, very comfortable, and production time right now is only 2 days.

You don't have to wait 5 months for a VM2. On Milt Sparks' ordering page here, towards the bottom are listed 3 dealers who stock their holsters. I contacted Allan Yoast and got a VM2 for a 4" M1911 in just a few days. A friend of mine did the same on my recommendation and got another one in about a month. If you want the real thing rather than an imitation, contact Allan. I've worn one VM2 for over a decade and it's obvious that this holster will easily outlast me.

I've been happy with Wild Bill's Concealment holsters. I have an OWB paddle for my SIG P226 and clip-on IWBs for my 1911, G23, and .357 snubbie. I get them at the Chantilly gun show and always get a good price!
