I'm Hooked!!

My son and I competed in our first match yesterday, and I had an absolute blast! (pun intended). Friends of our's are members of Fairfax Rod and Gun, and invited us to an IPDA-style club match yesterday. My son borrowed his friends Glock, and I used my Sig 239 (only compact there). One 8rd mag and two 10 rd mags, never ran out of ammo, so I felt pretty good about my target selection and accuracy. Considering this was our first experience at a match, I'd say we did very well. Dont have the scores yet, but will post them when I get them.
Yes, I am officially hooked. Now I really need to find an XD tactical in 9mm!!!

I've only shot the XD, but from what XDM owners are saying, it's worth the extra money if you're in matches.

We finally got our scores from the club match. There were 14 shooters, I placed 7th and my son placed 9th. Seeing as how I was shooting a compact with the mags tucked in my jeans pocket, and my son was shooting a borrowed Block he had never shot before, I'm pretty pumped about our score. (More so that I wasnt beaten by my son!!!)
Found an XDm, and will be picking it up in a couple of weeks. Cant wait to put some rounds downrange with it.

Greg - that's great news that you didn't let the boy beat you!

I must agree that he is a proud Dad and should be. But he will be prouder when the day come's and his son can beat him and he can tell people that he trained him how to shoot and is proud of his ability to surpass his trainer.
