I want to sell my AR15 (Colt LE6940) that I bought new,
Am I allowed to do so in Virginia?

I appreciate any input.

You surely are. Nothing special about selling it over any other firearm.

+1

They just need to be a legal resident of VA and lawfully allowed to possess the firearm. Nothing else is required. Most people accept a DL as proof of residency. Others may require a Bill of Sale (BoS) and/or a CHP. Still others won't sell it unless an FFL transfers it to you. However, none of those things are required. IMHO, if you're uncomfortable enough with the sale that you want those extra things then you probably have enough "red flags" you just shouldn't do the sale. There's a lot of dissent and discussion on requiring more...just search the forum.

Dont believe a word these guys say. AR15s are worthless in VA (especially Colts) and a pain in the butt due to all the paperwork. But, since you are new here as a welcome gesture I'll give you $50 for it to relieve you of all the troubles you'll have...

Yes you can. I've sold my Colt AR15 without a problem, but I used the local gun shop for FFL help.
