Circuit Judge

Well yesterday I was working the VCDL Booth at the Dale City VFW Gun show and we were sitting right next to Trader Jerry's and they had a very nice looking rifle there that looked lost. Being the nice guy that I am; of course I had to take it home and provide it with a comfortable place to stay. So I am now the proud owner of a Circuit Judge .410/.45 cal rifle. Court will be held at all indoor/outdoor ranges in the near future. I can't wait to see the pattern the .410 shoots at 25 yards.

Kinda of an interesting review of the Circuit Judge with the .410 shot shell

Very cool. Thanks for the video link, as well. I have seen these advertised in American Rifleman, and was curious about how they handled the gap in front of the cylinder. The video answered that.
Have fun!

Cool gun! Is it rifled?

Yes it is rifled, and it comes with a choke that is for .45 long colt (choke is rifled), or one for .410 shot (stops the shot from spinning and spreading out too much).....Wifey loves it because it is easy to load, double action, carbine size (barrel is only 18") and the factory night sights are really great!!!

I've had my eye on them just for sheer fun, and then my girlfriend handled one at the store. I might be bringing one home soon. :first:

I think most indoor ranges do not allow the .410 to be shot.

Even with slugs? It's not like .410 slugs pack much of a punch.

I've shot a Judge indoors before, both with 000 buck and with 8 1/2 shot. That was in Tampa, though. The range I use here doesn't allow anything smaller than buckshot, but I believe that's the only restriction they have on shotguns. I don't recall any rules about a minimum gauge.

I know The Range in Stafford has it posted no .410 Judge on range.

Any idea why?

Is it no .410 with shot, or no .410 at all?

From their site

THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE SHOT AT THE RANGE:
1. ARMOR PIERCING AND TRACER AMMUNITIONS.
2. BLACKPOWDER GUNS.
3. ALL RIFLE CALIBERS!
4. ALL SHOTGUNS!

5.HANDGUNS THAT SHOOT RIFLE OR SHOTSHELL AMMO!

I would say that means no .410 at all. Shot or slug.

Man, that sucks. I shoot my Benelli at SEG with slugs all the time.

Got one on the way. I was delayed on the background check, and of course as soon I stepped in the door at home, called to say it went through. It's going to be a gift for my fiancee - she's going to be ecstatic.

Do you guys still like yours?

She loves her Circuit Judge. She thinks it is a blast to shoot and I have to agree.
