Went to the NRA range in Fairfax today.
My DW CBOB just back from the factory for a trigger adjustment.
Practiced my sight picture and shot online but high. Last time I was high to the right. But the front post was under the target circle not over it like this time.
My first three magazines were bottom was first, left was 2nd and right was 3rd.

- very rapid fire

Just shot another 100 rds at the range today.
250 rounds through my teflon coated DW CBOB. Seem to be getting the range on her. Not so much high and right anymore.
1st tgt on left 5th tgt in middle and 8th tgt on rt. Tgt 9 and 10 look like Tgt 8.

I was regularly high and right until I got some "instruction" First two rounds on TGT 8 were in the upper right hand block too, but on tgt. Now I have to go shoot my SS CBOB and see how she is feeling.

Are you shooting for group's or are you shooting to hit an attacker. The spread of the round's expended in the first series of targets show that you were looking at the target and not putting all your concintration on the front sight. The second set of targets show that you are doing better looking at the sight's and putting more finger in the trigger. I assume that you are right handed.
After being in the weapons field for over 40 year's and carrying a weapon for a living I must tell you that the first group's of rapid fire at close range will be the one's that get the job done on an attacker. Look at what you want to shoot and shoot it. It work's.

Breaking in a new gun.
Rds 151 to 250.

I took that same advice from someone else to get the results that I got at the range this time.

OK, I've been an NRA member for little over two (2) years now; visited the HQ Range this evening.
Very Nice establishment - spent about $25 for first visit, lane fee. I typically shoot at least once a week (that has tapered off recently with the ammo shortage/higher prices for what is available, etc.
I am a member out at Blue Ridge as well. Here's the CBA (cost benefit analysis) for me (given that I shoot once a week, +/- 100rds).
BRA - $35 a month, no range fees, and never waited for a lane. 9mm FMJ is typically about $20 for box of 50rds (up from $16 a few weeks back).
NRA - $14 a visit/range fee, did not ahve to wait for lane this go-around. 9mm FMJ is about $20 for a box of 50rds (American Eagel/Remington).
Liken this to Costco vs. Giant; Costco (BRA) will always have items that I want/need, bulk, so always a good deal/price. Giant (NRA) will have the specialized items (longer range, better mechanics, etc) that I may want every now and then.
Also - newbie here - but "pound for pound, dollar for dollar" you cannot beat Virginia Arms Company. Purchased my SIG from those guys and they were $150 lower than next guy; went back today prior to range visit for night-sights = 15mins of armorer work and I was good to go.

Depends how often you go--if you go twice a month to the NRA range, it about matches the $35/mo fee at BRA. But then if you're going twice a month, an annual membership would make more sense--at the NRA range, it is $300/yr for NRA members (I don't know what it is for BRA, though).
I have an annual membership to the NRA Range (which doesn't really mean anything other than you've paid for a year's use of the range without needing to pay each time you go) and I've gone so often that I've dropped my equivalent cost per visit to $2.33. It helps that the range is on my way home, and that I shoot revolvers mostly in .22 and .38 and that I reload (much easier w/ revolvers to police my brass).
