Do I qualify for CHP?

I enlisted in the Army Reserve back in October, left for Basic Combat Training in January, and finally graduated from my Advanced Individual Training a couple of weeks ago. I'm going to recieve my signing bonus soon and plan on using a small portion of it to add a CC weapon to my personal arsenal. I looked up the requirements to get a concealed carry permit and it said that military training could be substituted for the taking a class requirement. Do I just go down to the circuit court with the completed application I got off their web site and my military ID or do I need something else proving I know how to handle a weapon?

I would think that a military ID should suffice. You should called your county clerk's office and ask them what they need from active duty military for a CHP.

Those of us who are veterans just have to show our DD-214. You don't have one of those yet :)

Your current military ID will be fine. Just bring it to the Clerk's Office with the completed application and $50.00
