Today I ordered a Regent 1911. Why, you may well ask, would I do a thing like that? Short answer is that a man don't need a reason to buy another 1911. Other reasons: I saw a plain one in the flesh at the dealer's shop, and it seemed like a good, solid pistol. I've seen them advertised as a good piece to buy and customize. I think they're built in Turkey. But none of that is why I ordered the consarnded thang. The price on the circular was $399. I'm sure that was the dealer's cost. I guess I'll pay a little more than that. But any solid 1911's worth $400 or $450.

But that ain't the kicker. This pistol has the slide engraved with
a picture of Osama bin Laden, an American flag, and "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, 5-1-2011".

Now, I ask ya, how could I resist?

I concur - ASAP!

I've been thinking about buying another one, too.

First I give the Springfield to my brother, then the ParaOrdnance to my oldest son, then I buy a new Ruger for me - if what I see at the gunshow looks to worth the price.

I've been a 1911 guy since 1978, the first time I shot one and made the battalion combat pistol team.

I've been pleasently surprised with my Rock Island full size "tactical".... not a bad gun for $480 out the door.

Been considering an AMT "Hardballer". An obscure piece of 1911 history, but it might help round out my collection. Trouble is, everything gets backordered or delayed (the Hardballer is used, and won't be). I've got promises outstanding right now for a STI Premium Sentinel, a Wilson Combat Dominator, an Ed Brown Classic Custom, and a Ruger SR1911. I'm afraid not to pull the trigger on the order because they're so hard to get, but If they all show up at the same time (or even close together, I'm liable to have to sell the danged house.

Reckon I'd be better off with a mistress. I understand they're powerful expensive too, but at least then I'd have to sneak around and try to hide what I was doing just to stay alive.

I think the pic of UBL is small enough not to be repugnant. The notation "DEAD" justifies it. I like it.
