I just got some new Circle 10, 45rd mags for my arsenal sgl 31.
So I figured I'd take some pictures and compare the size and weight of the 45rd mags vs a standard 30rd mag.
With out further ado:
Circle 21- 30 round mag.
empty. 7oz

Circle 21 w/ 30 rounds of Hornaday
1lb and 3 oz (19oz)

Circle 10 - 45 round mag
empty: 8 5/8 oz

Circle 10 with 45 rounds
1lb + 10 5/8 oz (27 oz)

Here's the rifle on the scale
8lbs 6 oz
w 30 rounder: 9lbs 9oz
w 45 rounder: 10 lbs+

Here's some pics comparing their sizes.

Now for some related stuff.
I've got a Midwest Industries Quadrail on there.
I like it for it's versatility. I might want to add a flashlight some day etc.
And it was $25 cheaper than an ultimak with 4 times as much tacticool real estate.
On top of that rides a trijicon reflex i bought from a member. The battery-less kind. no battery + AK = good.

You'll notice that it rides very high.
I'm trying to use a CQB type stance instead of a bladed one and I wear glasses, so a high red-dot is actually good for me personally. the downside is of course that I cannot co-witness my irons, kind of a philosophical problem for an AK.

Underneath is a Magpul AFG (gen 1?) I picked up from a member.
I'm not 100% sold on the AFG, but I don't think the old-school mag grab stance cuts it with a 10 lb gun.
The AFG also makes the weight easier to deal with.
I plan on adding a safety lever that's easier to manipulate.
Like the Lightning Lever:

I thought about an ACE stock and an Ergo grip. We'll see how that goes. I'm ok with the com-block length of pull for now.
