They aren't stockpiling machine guns, the chief reason the ATF raided the compound. Between them, Doyle and Martin don't even own a rifle.

I'm kind of surprised CNN published that, but it is the only mention of it too.

Ruby Ridge is another one.

Randy Weaver was at a gunshow once. Talked with him for awhile. Didn't agree with everything, but there was one thing he said that kinda struck home.

"It doesn't matter if you did something, or not, if they wanna kill you... they're gonna kill you."

Like I said, force is the greatest power on Earth. One can be as idealistic as they please, but ever since that first bacterium shot his shiny new proboscis through his defenseless neighbor and absorbed its nucleus for food; might makes right.

Dont mess with people who have more power than you. It never ends well.

But I quote "Harley Davidson" AKA Mickey Rourke from "Harley Davidson, and The Marlboro Man":

"Better to be dead, and cool... than alive, and uncool."

Charred child corpses always do make a cool addition to any party.

According to Wikipedia, "Seventy-six people died in the fire, including more than 20 children, two pregnant women, and Koresh himself."

Thats alot of wasted life for resisting a search warrant.

Shoulda just came out.

They could have just simply waited for him to come to town... like the deputies told the Feds he does once a week. They could have just asked him to come to town, like the deputies DID to question him about some firearms purchases.

Justification of force is an old trick of the Fed. "Shoot first, cover it up". The Feds are INFAMOUS for that... but you know, when you OWN the "Judicial" branch... nothing comes to you.

Ask Randy Weaver's wife about that...

Like Gunderwood has said before, "Better to die on your feet, than live on your knees."

That would not have been newsworthy and so was dismissed as an option.

"Shoulda just came out."

Shoulda just got on the damn trains already and stopped with all the kvetching already.

Shoulda just sat in the back of the bus and stopped gettin' all uppity.

Shoulda just paid the damn tea tax and stamp tax and ... and not gotten bunchy underwear over it.

The one thing governments are actually good at is slaughtering their citizens.

If the government wants to get you, they're going to figure out how to do it no matter what, no matter if you've actually done anything illegal or not.

There's always going to be some bureaucrat who wants to make a name for himself.
