I received an email showing me pictures of my custom grip for my Dan Wesson. It's being made out of black and silver dymonwood and will have silver abalone shamrocks and a silver metal 1/4" ban at the bottom. The finish will be extremely high gloss. The first picture is of the new grip. The second picture shows a comparison of the original grip and the new one. I wanted finger grooves and no checkering. This man definetly knows what he's doing. I already have three other projects for him when this one's complete. I will show final product pics, when I receive them.

Post pics when they are done, I'm sure they will look awesome. Did you ever tell us who was building those grips?

I will post the pics as soon as I get them. The man who's making them is
Christian Bond out of Mt. Enterprise, Tx. This man makes custom voilins for top dollar, and he's doing this for me at a very good price. He's a nice guy and his last name is Bond, how cool is that.

Nice! I made some revolver grips of my uncle's H&R .22 the original plastic ones cracked. I think I did OK for my first attempt. I only have video.

Not bad at all. It's good to know how to build things yourself.

Jake, how did you cut the red oak for those grips? You did a good job, especially for a first attempt. The stain looks well grained. Do you have any sunlight pictures of it yet? Josh

Thanks, they aren't perfect but I'm proud of them! I cut them out by using the broken grips as a template. Then I turned down some metal pins to fit into the to holes in the handle and the frame. I shaped in with a belt sander and I think I used "Mahogany" stain on the oak. After that a little polyurethane and I was good to go. I'll see if I can shoot some good pics today(pun intended). It's my uncle's but I'm going over his house today.
