Female NRA Firearms Instructor has created an all female shooting group, The Shooting Divas of DMV.

Because I'm a guy, I have to ask; "DMV?" As in Del-Mar-Va? Or Dept. of Motor Vehicles?

I'm guessing DC is D, MD is M, and VA is V...as in "The Shooting Divas of DC-MD-VA."

Yep, DMV is Dc, Maryland, Virginia

The Shooting Divas group is a lot of fun. Any of you menfolk whose ladies want to hang out with other ladies for range trips, food, and general conversation, should pass along the information to them.

I'm not sure if the divas group stretches this far south. Seems to be focused more in NOVA.

We (Proactive Shooters) have been kicking around the idea of a ladies group in the Richmond area for a while now.

We may still do it. I had hoped to bring a female instructor on board first, but we may start the group without one to get it going. We see alot of ladies in our classes and I'd love for them to continue their interest in shooting and personal defense.

Tina started the group up here, since that's where she's located. Your missus might want to search around and see if there's something similar down there, or maybe someone will start up a similar group...

She's welcome to join us at events, if she's up this way - just let me know when, and I'll see what events are scheduled. Or she can join up.

Update: I understand Tina is starting up a Shooting Divas chapter in Fredericksburg soon, and possibly on in the Hampton Roads area.

Keep looking on meetup.com and see what there is. I will let you know when things are official, if I can.

The organizer of the group is Elizabeth Lanier - amazing instructor and shooter.

GRITS are primarily shotgun clay shooters, but recently offered a beginning handgun class as well. GREAT group of women. I went to Argentina with the GRITS last year to shoot birds and we took over a hunting lodge and had a BALL!!
