This is why we need to watch California

Idiotic gun law proposed in Oregon. http://www.ammoland.com/2011/02/09/oreg ... revolvers/

We can't just let the california legislature kill their state with idiocy. The problem is that others see the idiocy and think that since it's working so well in the most populous state, it should work everywhere.
Of course most of us know that it doesn't really work.
I'm not just talking gun laws either. California is an expensive place to live because of their nanny laws. Look up Prop 2. Gasoline is $1 more per gallon because CA mandates special gas hoses that cost twice as much.
We can not let this crap spread.

Wow, 1 year in the big house if you remove a loaded chamber indicator. That is idiocy at its best. Yes, lets load up our prisons with violators of stupid laws while real criminals walk free...what a crock...

That is a good example of lawmakers not knowing their ass from their elbow in their attempts at these stupid laws... I;d bet though that there are lobbyist in the background pushing them ,either through bribery or some form of technology they are promoting much like the clowns who push the ammo marking pistols here on the east coast because they want to corner the market....What I can't help wondering is why the gun owners can't get enough traction to defeat some of these pinheads and get the ball rolling the other way,.. I lived in San Diego for 3 months and have to admit that the CA mindset is a whole different animal than here in VA,,,, A lot of folks seem to be living in a Barbie Dream House world and brains are just for taking up space between their ears...Not doing things in a common sense manner,..

Depends on who you meet in California. You've got Barbie Dream House folks here in VA, too.

I agree with you about the stupid laws and those who make them. A few months back I wrote a piece answering that very question--"why the gun owners can't get enough traction to defeat some of these pinheads and get the ball rolling the other way"--from the perspective of one of those Californians. Some didn't like it, some did, but whether you like it or not, that's what we as gun owners need to do to turn this around, especially in places like CA.

True, but how many of them are native Virginians? Most of the Barbie Dream House folks are native to the northeast or west cost. We get a lot of people from all over since we are near DC.

AFAIC most everything North of Fredericksburg isn't Virginia. I don't mean the land, I mean the people. Yes sane people exist even there although I'm left to wonder about their sanity on the road.

*Will not buy a gun with a magazine disconnect*

I agree. Sometimes I think about maybe we should offer the occupied territory independence if we can get West Virginia back. But then I wonder if getting their corruption and cultural rot may not be a lateral trade at best...
