Any of you folks around Brookneal Virginia on Monday, May 25 , you may want to stop at the Brookneal Community Center. We have a very nice Memorial Day Ceremony planned it starts at 3:oo in the afternoon. I'll be there and will be happy to meet you all.

Vahunter it's just a short hop for you.

The main speaker will be Bob Slaughter a WW II vet, of national acclaim, this man is a true hero, a WW II vet, there is nothing more I can say about him, a giant among men.

I will be the MC of this ceremony so you won't be able to miss me. I don't just spend all my time running around out in the woods and killing animals, but I do a lot of work with veterans and veterans groups. You all are already getting to know more about me than you need to, so I'll leave it at that.

Memorial Day, Brookneal Community Center, at 3:00 PM , Main street Brookneal. I'll be glad to see you there.

I just got on here to bring this post up to the top, if your around Brookneal Memorial Day at 3 PM stop in at the Community Center.

When I said Bob Slaughter was a giant of a man I wasn't talking about his size, but the content of his character.

Sometimes us old guy's don't make things very clear, it's tough to express emotions when your typing.

Just wanted to say "Thank You" to everyone who has served, or is currently serving, in the Armed Forces. Thanks for your service to protect the rights we so often take for granted.

Our ceremony went very well, another success story. I'm glad the rain held off until it was over.

If anyone from the forum was there and I didn't get a chance to speak to you I'm sorry, we had a good crowd and I tried to get around as best I could. If you where there you know I was busy.

If you did not make it, you missed a very good Memorial Day ceremony. Channel 13 from Lynchburg covered it so I expect to see us on the news tonight at 11:00. They had a film crew there.

Sgt. Bob Slaughter a true American Hero, was an excellent speaker.
