Virginia Gun Owners Forum - VGOF

Hi! I am so glad to know that I am not the only gun owner in Alexandria! It feels like I am. I hope it's alright for a girl to join this boys club. My favorite gun is a SigP220. I also have a Ruger Mark III that I just got. The sights seem to be a little off. Every shot pulls a little to the left. I need to learn how to fix that.

Thanks all! I was just making a little joke about the club to put myself at ease. Sorry! I am thrilled to have a forum like this to discuss something so important. Honestly, if I talked to my friends about my guns or my 2nd amendment rights they would think I was from another planet.

Welcome from one of the other ladies in the region. While it's true there aren't a lot of us, even just a few of us is enough to keep these fellas in line.

I'm in Herndon - not terribly far from Alexandria, though I think I've only been there a handful of times since moving to VA in 2005.

Sweetpea, I just read what I wrote the other day and I thought I was a little abrupt, I have nothing against Alexandria or northern Virginia, it's just too much city for me. I feel out of place in any big city.

My wife, who I've been married to for 47 years, is a shooter and a hunter, she is a pretty good trout fisherman too. I like to see women shooting and hunting, we need a lot more ladies in this sport.

Thanks, I totally understand your feelings on big cities. It's uncomfortable to be packed in with so many people once you know how peaceful the country is. That's cool about your wife! I've never been hunting but I do think I'd enjoy hunting wild turkey. I have a grudge against those birds. I've been thrown by too many horses coming up on a freaked out turkey to like them. lol

Ladies don't carry guns... You are destroying all of the myths of chivalry!

Believe me, if there is a man nearby who wants to protect me if I'm being attacked, I'll be glad for the help. Otherwise, it's all up to me!
