The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms -- the agency tasked with keeping U.S. guns from being smuggled to Mexico -- has come under fire for allegedly allowing firearms to cross the border into Mexico.

Last Friday, Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) sent a letter to the ATF stating that his office had "received numerous allegations that the ATF sanctioned the sale of hundreds of assault weapons to suspected straw purchasers, who then allegedly transported these weapons throughout the Southwest border area and into Mexico."

Grassley asked for ATF officials to meet with his staff to discuss the matter, noting that "there are serious concerns that the ATF may have become careless, if not negligent, in implementing the Gunrunner strategy." Gunrunner is the name of the ATF operation to keep guns from entering Mexico.

Ah, good old ATF, creating the problem they want to solve.

Step 1: Run guns to Mexico.
Step 2: Run a fear and propaganda campaign about said guns getting to Mexico.
Step 3: Profit.

(shrugs) You know?

Nothing the Guv'mint does anymore surprises me. They have no competition, they have no one to pull in their bureaucratic reigns, and we're "Subjects" in their mind.

A guv'mint agency fudgin' numbers by creatin' tha' situation!?!? NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Never happens! EVAH!

They have a sweet shrine to honor their dead assassins at Waco, I hear. We paid for it too. I bet it's real fancy.

This is their back door attempt to have another assault weapons ban. It is incredibly insidious and shows that it is a well placed plan with the likes of the Washington Post (remember their expose's on the subject) to deny us our Constitutional rights.

+1

And then they wonder why even when they are "behaving" themselves we don't trust them. Just another chapter in the corrupt ATF history.
