ATF overstepping its bounds again?

Post by VBshooter »

Monday ,January 24th the BATFE is planning to announce a new policy for the importation of certain shotguns. Supposedly they want to be sure they have been addressing the current rule that they must have a sporting purpose to import or some other such tripe......

"Today, the ATF announced at the 2011 SHOT Show that a new ruling would be issued on Monday, January 24, 2011, regarding the importability of certain shotguns."

ATF to announce shotgun ruling Monday

http://www.saysuncle.com/2011/01/20/atf ... ng-monday/

Will be interesting to see what they have to say,

Well I suppose we'll shortly see a rapid increase on the cost of Saiga shotguns. Think I'll run buy one tomorrow before dealers get skittish...

Why is SHOT show letting ATF hang around and make announcements?

That too seems to be a trend ,,they are sticking their nose in a lot of places they shouldn't these days.... Willing to bet they got a whole new rash of courage to bypass the Congress now that they have an Anti Gunner for a director. If Obama is gonna mess with gun control, this kind of regulation will keep him isolated and still able to get an agenda done,,,BTW that United nations treaty is supposed to be coming up very soon also.

Who's is hearing the ruling, and what states will be mandated to follow? Is this a national ruling or states like NJ, NY, IL and CA?

If this passes, could our governor over rule here in Va?

Seeing it coming from BATFE it will affect all states and none can preempt it as it will be a federal requirement, It will probably come out as a bulletin from BATFE in Washington DC and then the various medias and groups will distribute the information

Exactly. It isn't a law, it is a regulation with the force of law.

It is the ATF saying they have the authority and if you do otherwise they are going to kick your door down, take you to court (if they don't murder you in your bed first) to ruin the rest of your life by making you (an otherwise tax paying and law-abidng citizen) a felon because they said so. Nothing else.

Now that Obama has his whipping boy in place at ATF I am willing to bet we see more attempts at regulation than at anytime in the past...We all know the annointed ones disdain for the Congress and the People so it will come as no surprise/

I have been hearing from SHOT show that BATF (Ban Anything That's Fun) was looking at the Taurus Raging Judge 28 gauge revolver, and this isn't necessarily about Saigas.

It turns out this was all BS, and BATFE had nothing planned. Saiga sales jumped, and the prices skyrocketed. FOR NOTHING.

You noticing a trend here? :tinfoil:

If these were stocks (pump and dump) it would be illegal.

The Princelaw blog has smoked the last shreds of its credibility with this.
