New member checking in.....

I live in the Metro DC area of Virginia. I have been here a little under a year. I am rated an NRA Instructor for Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun so I can teach the Shooting Sports to the youth members of the Boy Scouts including the Venturing program.

I am disappointed at the lack of ranges available to the public here. I am used to paying $30 a year in Western PA for club membership that includes keys to the gate and all the range time I want.

The cheapest option you will find here is Sharpshooters for $225 a year, as I recall. For that you get a a dimly lit 22 YD shooting range where you can only fire pistol caliber ammunition.

For a little more, you can go to the NRA range and get a better lit 50 yd range where you can fire rifle calibers.

I go to Sharpshooters because they are very convenient to my house.
