Another RINO Steps Forward

Rep. Peter King, a Republican from New York, will introduce legislation that will make it a federal crime to carry a firearm within 1,000 feet of federal officeholders and judges in response to the shooting in Tucson that killed Judge John Roll and gravely injured Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. King, who chairs the Homeland Security committee in the House, will get support from New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a longtime advocate for gun control

Somebody please explain to me how creating another stupid law (that criminals already ignore), is going to help anything?

King (another hometown hero of mine) is a chronic foot in mouther. A subnormal IQ reactionary if there ever was one, and the above proposed law is proof in the pudding on that one.

Amazing how its easy to propose Federal laws restricting guns, but there cant even be one on moving guns from one state to another huh?

It's not for controlling criminals... it's for controlling you.

Whether a stupid comment is from a Republican or a Democrat, we all must understand and agree that it doesn't take an intelligent person to win political office. It is usually the one that was better at manipulating a good message that wins.
I have two teenage sons that are brighter than your average politician. Politicians only do and say what they think will win them points politically. Right or wrong plays no part. As well as whether a position is constitutional or not. Constitutional bearings truly mean nothing to these parasites.
Can you tell I am not a fan of Federal, Local or State government politicians??
Stay armed, stay safe and stay diligent.

You could literally be walking down the street and unknowingly break a federal law! Not to mention it's a nightmare for any OCers. You get some annoying official that decides to walk towards anyone carrying, then call the police. Talk about a divide between the people and their Representatives.

I understand (not agree with) enacting a law prohibiting XYZ from occurring 10yards, 100 yards, 1,000 yards from a stationary item like a building or property. How would this work? Something like a restraining order?

I think it appropriate that an elected official would ask for a new law that protects an elected official from the general public, who believes that the elected official is derelict in his duties....seems right to me....

...on an unrelated note, the Arizona Gov. is preparing to sign a law restricting the protest by the CRAZY BAPTIST from Kansas at the funeral of the nine year old girl killed by the whackjob in Tucson. The "reverend" Phelps wanted to protest the funeral of the girl and the Arizona lawmakers unanimously voted to restrict any protest of funerals.

That would certainly be an insane law. I drive much closer than 1000 feet from my Reps local office every time I go to my local gun range, is he going to be required to post a sign readable from 1000 ft away saying they are in the office today? So I can detour.

Proving once again that Congressmen are not as smart as criminals! The bad guys love gun free zones! They are proposing a law that would make them much more vulnerable!

Kreutz, I have to agree with you about King. He is surely one who is 80% talk and 20% think, and in that order. He has come out with things that I support, but that is primarily dumb luck, as he is constantly going off about something.

How about just prohibiting discharging a firearm within a mile of an official with certain exceptions (official duty, self defense, etc.). There could then be no question of entrapment.

Or, if they really want to be set apart, break out the needles and tat concentric black and white circles on their foreheads so everyone carrying will know to back off.

I think they know it'll die a quick death in the courts, and are hoping it'll hang on long enough to be used in this instance. (The resulting lawsuits and concomitant costs from enforcing an unconstitutional law probably never entered their minds.)

Huh? Congresscritters will just have SS or local police protection. Like every other law they write, it won't affect them. Only the proles.

Why does it seem that all too often Reps from NY are behind these proposals? McCarthy is a documented butthole and I think King is looking for points in the game of ass kiss these people play... But let's not forget our good freind from NJ Frank Lautenburg.. A lifetime card holding douche bag he is right up there with the waste of space and Oxygen club too... What I'm waiting to see is when the West Coast equivalent of these idiots come out with one of their hare brained suggestions... God help us!! We gotta fight on our hands I think!
Here's another article about Kings sudden anti gun campaign aimed at putting electeds on a freaking pedestal and away from us "commoners"

REPUBLICAN PETER KING BECOMES ANTI-GUN IDIOT!

Nothing like a tragedy to bring out the knee-jerk jerks! Saturdays shootings in Tucson at the hands of a leftist wacko (redundancy alert) has brought the usual libtard anti-gun suspects out of their politically correct closets. Only, we didn’t expect to see a Republican coming out with them! Of course, Republicans never fail to disappoint in the department of being idiots.

Nothing like a ride on the political bandwagon...
