Virginia Gun Owners Forum - VGOF

Has anybody else seen any other firearms that have been "decorated" to appeal to Tea Partiers, Second Amendment and other patriots? I was visiting Sig Sauer's site and stumbled across these:

I don't know that I'd ever buy such a weapon, but I am sure it has it's niche. Heck, the closest thing I have to a collectable firearm is a rifle made by a tractor manufacturer.

It's not unusual. S&W put out a "Heller commemorative" run of J-frames. Other manufacturers have done commemoratives for various things as well. Hell, there are even commemorative machineguns. Not sure about "gun rights" stuff specifically beyond the S&W stuff though.

They tend not to be worth much over ordinary versions of the firearms, so don't waste your time buying them as "investments". Get 'em if you like 'em, don't expect to make money off them.

I would get them as grips but I don't think I would want to commit to having it on the gun itself.

I've seen them before. They guys who showed them to me were complaining that they made a "Don't Tread on Me" 9mm...wouldn't .45ACP be more "American?"

I agree with Jake, the grips are the coolest part.

At least this one looks like it's made to be fired. Some of the commemoratives the NRA advertises might as well be plaques as guns; they have so much intricate engraving and detail you would never shoot 'em.
Not sure I get the point of paying 2 or 3 grand for a gun that won't ever be shot, but - different strokes for different folks.
